Nope but i think one of the characters made it to Capcom vs. Marvel.
Also, Bangio for (gamecube??) and now on DS. Crazy puzzle type shooter with the awesome 1k missle blast, reminds me of many macross and robetech scenes which i think is the mother of missle blasts
Some SNES game that had three cyborg ninjas. It was a side scrolling beatemup and was pretty awesome.
There was another side scroller on the NEO Geo, who had two half robot dudes figthing other robots. I played this in the arcades way back when....

Has anyone ever played capcom's cyberbots, kikai-oh, or Armored Warriors? I always wanted to try them out. Kikai-oh has been mentioned in here several times under it's americanized name, "Tech Romancer". Brief summary: It's awesome. I haven't played any of the others.

Thexder was awesome! I remember playing that on my monochromatic apple IIe. I loved that game
thexder 2 was good but I have fond memories of the first one. I think a few years back someone did Thexder with new graphics.. maybe 6 yrs ago?
Oh and Armored warriors is awesome if you can manage to get a buddy to play with you.. you can combine robots. And you can interchange parts of your mech with beatten foes. Like arms or legs etc.. (it was like a spin on picking up guns or bats on those old beatem up side scrollers... you would have those parts to you croaked.. or X amount of damange you did with it...) man I hope they put that game on a classics compilation for psp. unless well you have a modded psp.

Ganbare Goemon! That "mystical ninja" had its own giant robot. Even better, it had its own theme song by the legendary Ichirou Mizuki (of Mazinger Z fame), which Konami made the wise decision to subtitle instead of dubbing or giving it the axe it altogether.
DA DA DASH!

Has anyone ever played capcom's cyberbots, kikai-oh, or Armored Warriors? I always wanted to try them out. I played all three of them, all with emulators... Like I said before, Kikaioh is truly an experience. The final boss was too cheap, tho, and I have never been able to finish the came on one credit. Cyberbots were too tough for my clumsy old hands... I can only get to level 3 or 4 before the CPU nailed me. It's kinda interesting tho, because you choose your pilot, then you choose your mech. Each mech has three variations, the "normal", "heavy armor" and "quick" types. I don't really know if selection of mech decides the ending for the game, tho.. As for armored warriors, the game was fun because it lets you pick up upgrades, but was too hard to be played alone, and rather too short too (only six levels, if I remember correctly). The bosses are awesome too. After continuously inserting credits, I was able to beat it with...my wife!

I just beat transformers. You were right about Unicron. I thought I unlocked everything, but you have to play it on the hardest mode to unlock all the datacons. The game was hard enough on medium. I am not sure I want to play it again anytime soon on the hardest mode.
I am about to start on my megaman collection on PS2, then I will try and beat MM9.

Heir zog zwie, first RTS on the Sega genisis and it was awesome. you played either a blue or red transforming robot (from plane to mecha) dropping units in desired location though you could not attack enemy units directly except for the opposing transforming robt. Goal was to get your units to destroy your opponents base before yours. Hours of fun!

Does anyone remember an arcade game from Capcom called Side Arms? I used to go down to the local Straw Hat Pizza to play this game. It was great because it was co-op like Double Dragon and Contra, but the two mechs were able to combine and make a powerful robot. It did make it on the Commodore 64 but one player only and on the Turbo Grafix 16/ Turbo Duo. Here's a site with screenshots. shmups.classicgaming.gamespy.com/reviews/sidearms/index.html

Zone of Enders is cool. I was also thinking of getting Steel Battalion. I remember when that first came out and saw the big box it came in. The $200 price tag at the time stopped me from getting it. How much are they going for nowadays?? Right now I'm playing Macross VFX-2 on the psp. This will hold me over till Macross Ace comes out on the 9th.

So my steel battalion just got here. I plugged it on, turned it on and now I am totally geeking out.
You flip switches like on a helicopter to setup fuel system etc... There is a button for everything. Opening the hatch, ejecting etc..
The character animation sucks though and the intro is blah, but other than that the game seems pretty cool.
It also turns out I had a toy from the video game that I bought long before I knew the game existed. The mecha design is mostly cool in this game. Very realistic for hte most part.

I just got MECHASSAULT for xbox. It is a pretty cool game. Its all a battle tech setup, and a very fast game. I would like to see one get made that is updated to 360 graphics. The game itself looks good, but the people renders are bad. Steel Battalion has some of the worst people renders I have ever seen though.

Used to play it when I was a kid at my local Aladdin's castle. I like the choice of weapons and the combination feature. However, on 1 quarter I can only get to level 3... gets quite tough after level 2.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned one of the mother of all mech games: THEXDER for the PC-DOS. The game has excellent graphics at the time, and it even has a transformable mech!! The control is pretty intuitive too. The enemies are tough and the level designs are tight and varied, and it was one of the hardest game I ever played. Took me about two hours of continuous play to finish all 16 level. Unfortunately, the game does not have any real ending - once you destroyed the large generator at level 16, it resets to level 1 again... Now there's a great memory! I got THEXDER the first Christmas my family purchased our first home computer (an IBM compatible Tandy) and being that I was about 10 or 11 at the time, and already a huge mecha fan, it was pretty much a dream come true (my parents apparently knew me well). True, the game kicked my back-end, and I don't know that I ever made it past Lv. 10, but it was a blast and I loved trying to make it to the next level over and over again - plus, the ability to transform and use that great beam weapon all over the place! I wish I could go home and fire it up (but sadly its likely in a box somewhere never to be recovered and lost to time)!
