I know, this thread is meant for use on Fridays. But, what the heck............ photo courtesy of ale_toyheaven.....This here "Grendy" bot is Ultrak. It's a Grendizer-looking bootie (IF it Is a bootleg, I dunno) manufactured by Atlantic S.p.A., the same company who manufactured the vintage UFO Goldrak*** model kit way back in those days. (*** in Italy, Grendizer is known as "Goldrak") I've never seen this specimen before, so I don't know what status it would be classified as (vintage, rare, whatever?). I'd like to assume this guy here is made of plastic, but then here he is with gold arms if it's foil-plated or whatever. And, it looks like those things on his arms are supposedly spring-loaded to shoot like projectiles, just like the Goldrak model kit's rocket fists. I thought I'd show him here so y'all can check him out. I stumbled upon this pic while browsing the net. zozo-mag

Tony I saw that and had it on the watch list. Pretty unique, and a little fugly at the same time. Poor guy has chopsticks for arms!

I hear ya there. I wonder if that company has made any other Goldrak type specimens. If you can score that one, by all means Go for it! I already have the Goldrak model kit, and I was lucky when I bought it from an RJ member a few years ago; it had that old nostalgic '90s "Banpresto" effect on me and I couldn't resist buying it. I'm not in the mood to back-track-collect anything else from this line because I wanna get back to focus on Maz merchs. Here's my Goldrak kit..... zozo-mag

No I am not going for it. It is really unique but it doesn't have the look I want in a grendizer.
That Atlantic kit is great. I am still on the lookout for one. I have the two sets of the tiny people figures from goldrake by Atlantic unused in the boxes. They will probably be going up in a for sale listing soon as I have no need for them. Have you ever seen those?

I think I've seen them....... now that you mention it, I believe Baron Weirwulf or someone else has that tiny people set; and it was discussed in another thread. Is that the set with all the people parts colored blue, on a sprue?

Yes. But there are actually two sets, each comes in its own box as they were sold separately. One is the good guys and one is all the bad guys I believe. I believe the first box is blue and the the second box is pink. Haven't taken them out in a while.

Interesting to know that company had some variety in their products. If their box art didn't draw attention, their toys surely did. zozo-mag

That Ultrak was a cool posting, but the ending price for that was insane! $510 EeeP! Ok, now we couldn't let Friday go to waste now, could we? Or, sure, we'll kill it with a bootreg. Seldom seen God Sigma bootleg GodBot in ST SIZE! As usual, original Popy is on the left in comparison shots. Unlike all the other ST versions of GodSigma, this one comes seperated from the chest armor, and backpack wing jet. Packed in a mini DX looking styro tray, laid out all classy-like! (wolf whisltes!) Just like the DX bootleg Taiwan runs, this ST is made from the same molds as the POPY, but only with poorer paint and mold detail. Also, the red wings have a few less details molded into them. i543.photobucket.com/albums/gg450/repairtechjon/GodSigma%20ST%20GB-17%20and%20bootlegs/IMG_2215_zps87932e60.jpgi543.photobucket.com/albums/gg450/repairtechjon/GodSigma%20ST%20GB-17%20and%20bootlegs/IMG_2216_zps326b5294.jpgi543.photobucket.com/albums/gg450/repairtechjon/GodSigma%20ST%20GB-17%20and%20bootlegs/IMG_2218_zpsfc59cb39.jpgWeird, I don't know what's gone wrong with my photobucket links. Seems my camera maybe endcoded the SD card wrong, or the upload worked weird. I should be able to have pics here, not just links. I tried all the cut/paste options. Any ideas?

Nice one there, RTJohn! If you hadn't pointed out those details which you described I would never have been able to tell the difference. And I don't own any Godmarz toys. I was surprised to see that company's "TV" logo on the box...... coincidentally, that graphic is how I use my initials T.V. for all my music/art projects under the name "TV Muzik". ;D zozo-mag
