Besides from the large scale sentai bases, Popy made several other larger scale plastic toys. One example is the large Varidorin. I have a pic of this in the RJ gallery. This first one is Mazinger's Brain Condor. Its not too rare, and it was also released in Italy (although I don't recall now if it was a Mattel release of a bootleg - I'll have to dig through my pics to refresh my memory). However, its still pretty pricey. This loose one sold recently on YJ for over 30K yen! However, this next one is new to me. I'd never seen this before. Its a large scale version of Mazinger's Jet Bike. This loose toy sold for about 65K yen!

Time for another one. These Gatchaman figures from Popy don't show up often (and prepare to pay $$$ if they do )

I threw this up in the kaiju forum, but might as well add it here since not all people visit both:

That first one is a Kamen Rider, perhaps one of the classic KRs. I don't know who the manufacturer is. The second one is an Astroboy (Tetsuan Atomu) modelkit that is motorized... looks like a "walker"... I don't know who manufactured it. Both look deserving of preservation, great classic specimens. zozo-Magengar

I was wondering about the Kamen Rider (Popy)set....guess it disappeared. It would be interesting to find out of the sale was consumated...or if it was a fake bid scheme.
Never seen that astroboy set.

I can't believe the Kamen kit sold for 9K... I saw that auction page, and the price, but I'm trying to block it outta my mind before I go postal... ...I mean, Really guys, Who on Earth would pay that kind of dough for a vintage toy? I guess I'm missing something here: Lotsa Dough!
D'oh! ;D

Well, that Kamen Rider bike IS PA-01, Popy's very first entry into the Popinica line. And this is an even rarer build-it-yourself kit. Its even hard as hell to get a pic of the regular issue of it! But I did manage to find one for comparison purposes: www.animeclick.it/notizia.php?id=18953

Here's a Marushin vehicle from the Machine Blaster series. I haven't really seen this before at auction.

Ah yes, the Machine blaster Aston car. I've longed after it at least a year now. Came up at the wrong time though - and IIRC went for quite a price. *sigh* some other time.
