That promo was made around the time the Mazinkaiser OVA series
was released. It was included by fansub groups as an "Extras" feature
in many custom-designed Mazinkaiser dvd torrent files.
I don't know where that promo actually originated from, nor who made it,
but it was a very popular Extras feature back in its day.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

The video originated on the OVA episodes of Shin Getter Robo vs Neo Getter Robo as a promotion for Mazinkaiser. Interesting enough supposedly Mazinkaiser would have had a series in the universe with the classic Dynamic team but never see the light of day( some believe that GoNagai had some license issue with Toie in which in turn Mazinkaiser OVA that we know was created).

From what I perceive, Nagai and Toei have always been at
eachother's throats since the original Mazinger-Z series.
I wonder what that beef was all about.

In Shin Mazinger Zero news, Koji Kabuto is revealed to be a full cyborg using technology by Machine Father (Professor Shiba). Also, Sayaka gets a new robot, Artemis A. One of the heroes' allies is Cutie Honey. It seems the manga has a cyborg/android theme going on. |

Possibly, yeah... many stories and movies featured
characters who were part-cyborgs.
But this manga thing about Koji being a full cyborg
has me curious.
Then again, I lost track of the Shin Maz Zero mangas
since they were put up online two years ago(?).

Well, a cyborg is actually a living being with mechanical parts - or in the case of the Terminator T-800 series, a robot covered with living tissue. So, if the person has permanently incorporated mechanical parts, then he/she is a cyborg. Maybe what is meant here by a full cyborg is actually an android (not the phone). Just my guess...

"Full cyborg" is the term used in Shin Mazinger Zero and Koutetsu Jeeg to denote a person who is completely cybernetic except for his brain.
In the Shin Mazinger Zero manga, Minerva X and Cutie Honey are androids.
Koji was unaware that he was a cyborg until he used a point blank Breast Fire on a kikaijuu. The intense heat burned away his outer covering. He looks like the NS-5 robots in the film I, Robot but with a more sinister face.
Koji being a cyborg is a reference to Gosaku Ota's Mazinger Z manga.

I'm gonna have to start lookin these mangas up again, this is
getting interesting. The last I've read of the Shin Maz Zero manga
was the issue in which Koji was about to get attacked by the Gamia androids
and Minerva-X shows up at the scene, but doesn't reveal herself yet.

Episode 2 has a different rhythm (less action) and this, IMO, gave the OVA more value 'n variety. I loved it...It brings a flash of Dizer's double harken and Getter's double tomahawk to the memory!  I hope we get ep. 2 subs/or MKV soon, my Mazinmaniacs fellas!
