Totally forgot about the SRC GL coming out. I love the presentation and sculpting on the riobot version, but I am loooiing forward to seeing Bandai's crack at this figure.

Someone made a great point about how Bandai SRC line would tease and have prototypes but it doesn't necessary means that they will do it. I remember seeing a lot of SRWOG that were planned with prototypes under the SRC line but a lot of them has yet to see the light of day. So far, only Alteisen and Wiessritter were made in the SRC line. Also, until bandai comes out and confirms it, this will remain a rumor. That said, I still want to see the prototype. Just hoping that it isnt ugly like Bandai first attempt at Gurren Lagann, the composite ver. Ka Gurren Lagann. Katoki Hajime is a great Gundam artist and should just stick to that. His interpretation of Gurren Lagann just plain sucked. Only thing acceptable with that one is the big giga drill.

supergetterv the Dygenguar and Außenseiter were both actually the SOC ones. They are pretty much in scale with the SRC SRWOG when you put them all together (it is how I rock them right now). I don't remember seeing prototypes for the Real Personal Trooper Types.

I remember seeing photos prototypes of the SRX team, R1,R2 and R3. First link I found: Notice, that in these picture, the Aussenseitter and Dygenguar aren't the SOC version, but a smaller scale, same size as the Alteisen, also with place cards that read they are SRC versions. Also notice that the Sun Vulcan figure has yet to be release. My point is just because they put out prototypes, doesn't mean that they will go ahead and do it. gunjap.wordpress.com/2010/05/20/tamashii-nations-super-robot-chogokin-new-large-images/Here you go, link to the picture of the SRX team R1 R2 and R3 maximummecha.blogspot.com/2010/10/bandai-super-robot-chogokin-super-robot.htmlNow in this picture, they do so that the team was being displayed with the SOC Dygenguar. Now regardless of how well they fit in scale, Bandai originally in planning the SRC line stated that they want to included Dygenguar and Ausseseitter as part of the SRC line. Check out GOLD's post in the thread with the list of SRC. robotjapan.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=SOC&action=display&thread=19004Not trying to rain on the parade of the possibility of a SRC Gurren Lagann or anything, just that I believe when they start to sell it.

supergetterv thanks for that info. It was when they were displayed with the SOC Dygenguar that confused me. I will have to look around for the info I had seen stating it was the SOC one. The first picture however, does look a lot smaller than my SOC set.
I think we will see the GL and Gunbuster. Especially GL. Money in the bank for Bandai

I'm with supergetterv on this. Toy does not exist until you can fill a pre-order. In the last few years Bandai has been showing a lot of protos that never get released. Still remember the transforming Escaflowne that was supposed to be a Bandai/Studio Halfeye collaboration… never mentioned again. robotjapan.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=SOC&action=display&thread=17303

I like the Ka Gurren Lagann... as a matter of fact, I like its sculpt more than Riobot's. It is not 100% anime accurate, but it is more close to the anime than the Riobot GL. Of course the Riobot GL is cool and all, but it went a little too far in terms of their original design - for my taste, of course. ;D I'm also waiting to see some pictures, or better yet, pre-order page for the SRC, but I don't doubt that it will be released sooner or later. }D

I view the Riobot GL as kind of a Fewture GL. I dig it for that. I think the Konami, Impact and Great Impact Series, sculpt is better than the Ka GL. I have both the KA GL and the Impact Model GL and the GL is way more anime accurate I think. Pretty badass figure.
Then again, my current fave GL is my Wonder Festival GL

The Yamato was fairly awful and the SHE kit is ... well. It's a resin model kit. I've got the Great Impact Gurren Lagann but I appreciate the different design path that Sen-ti-nel took with the Riobot version, so picking this toy up was kind of a foregone conclusion for me. I'm looking forward to getting it shipped here at the end of the month so I can run it through its paces.

Quick question for those that order this from amiami. What is tha SAL shipping quote they gave you for this item? I am wondering if they jacked up the shipping price to adjust for the newer price. The item price when I order this was 7250 yen, current price for this is 7950 yen. Price I got quoted along with a small Nendodroid set I am buying they quoted me the shipping at 3850 yen. Not gonna pay that for SAL shipping.

I know about the size of the box. I already got one from hlj.com and have one of these for over a month now. My invoice shipping from Hlj last month for this same exact item was 1500 yen. Why they quote me at 3850 yen for shipping doesn't make sense. The Nendodroid petite figure are 2.5 inches tall, so it can't possibly bring up the weight or cost by that much. The Nendodroid set cost 3250 yen itself so something isn't right here.

Hey supergetterv. I was curious have you tried weighing the stuff you got from HLJ? I know that I ship a lot of things, and sometimes I find the box I have to put things in weighs as much as what I might be shipping out. Was just curious what the total weight was. We can then look at the SAL price sheet.
quinjester jealous of your High Impact GL. Been considering pulling the trigger on getting one. Expensive in the aftermarket so I am not sure it is worth it. Then again, it was what $200 when it came out?

Then again, it was what $200 when it came out? Amiami usually uses boxes that give a good 2-3 inches of space on all sides of whatever's inside, complete with mashed up paper as filler, too, resulting in some pretty monstrously large (and heavy) boxes. When I got the GI Gurren Lagann, I didn't feel it was worth what I paid and very nearly sold it again. When it turned out to be such a rarity I ended up keeping it out of obligation, but I'd certainly never pay any of the aftermarket prices for it, nor recommend that anyone else do so. It's a nice enough piece, but with other stuff available on the market and ESPECIALLY the rumors of a Super Robot Chogokin version in the works, I'd say pass.

And rumors of a perfect change studio halfeye version. I really would like to see what they will do with that one. A transforming combining Gurren and a Lagann. I don't know the actual weight nor do I have one of them small packaging scale but this Riobot is light. The size of the box if you remember the deformover dygenguar from megahouse, it is roughly the same size. The listed weight from hlj was 800 gram and I believe it is correct. The other item I ordered was the Nendodroid Linkin Park set and the listed weight from hobby search is 350 gram. So the combine weight should not be more than 1200 gram. Which if you look at the rates shouldnt be more than 2000 yen for SAL parcel shipping. I am not home to show you but the box that I got from hlj that house this figure is a pretty big. In any case I was glad that I forgot to cancel my order with hlj and I emailed amiami about canceling this. This will be my second cancel with them, hopefully they don't trip about it. The last time I cancelled an order it was for this black rock shooter art book with a figma figure. The price of the item was 5000 or so yen but the price to ship it was more than 6000 yen, but that one I can understand, because the book was heavy.
A little update, partial order cancelled. The Nendoroid Linkin Park set at 3210 with only 800 yen shipping. So with the mark up in shipping of getting this set with this Gurren Lagann is 3050 Yen. That is way too much. I am still curious to know what amiami charge you guys for shipping. It just feels like the pre-ordered price of 7250 was marked up in the shipping.

My preorder shipped a few days ago. Preordered at 7240yen. SAL Shipping is 1580yen. No additional items shipped with it. Even got 383yen off from their point system (finally working after existing for like a year or longer).
There are times when my SAL shipping from Amiami took a big jump, but mostly due to items being big. Like my CM's Jeeg parts set shipped with my One Piece Merry gokin, cost like EMS, if not more at a whopping 6150yen! But when the package came, I kind of understand why, the box is pretty huge. So while SAL is cheaper, its always wise to ship one or two small things to take its advantage. Once you have enough to only fit in a large box, you don't save very much from going EMS. Which makes grouping up a bundle is not necessary cheaper. I remember one time at Nippon Yasan, it cost less to ship 2 items separately as separate orders SAL, than to buy both items in one order and ship SAL...like a $20 shipping difference. Go figure...

I ended up going EMS on this order since I was having 4 things being shipped. Still, I plan to weigh the box when it gets here to fit my curiosity.

See if they have this option of letting break the order up I wouldn't have cancelled the figure. I mean 1580 plus 800 is still way cheaper than stuffing two items in one big box and charging me 3850. They should allow the customer to pick the cheaper alternative shipping method.

Yeah. That is why I think HLJ is going to be getting my business again. You have to look at total cost of the figure
