So far, my castings are kickin ass... Here are more pages Page 7Page 8Page 9Page 10While I start on the Pilder body I will also sculpt a cockpit seat and interior out of a chunk of black solid rubber which I cut ("stole") from the rear bumper of an 18-wheeler parked at a truck stop last night. LOL For my Mazinger's shoulders, I found a couple of Fisher Price black plastic bowling balls from a kids toy bowling set... them balls are HUGE! LOL ...more on the way this weekend and days to come... ;D If I could dedicate all of my time to this project I probably wouldn't finish it (I gotta work to get the money to buy my supplies. LOL!) Take your time and it will turn out better... the time in between is to relax your mind so ideas will come easier. I'm so obsessed with my project I lose sleep over it... ...fun, but not healthy. LOL PS: Yeah, you're right, I GOTTA finish that jumbo Great Mazinga project as well. ;D I'm gettin my ass kicked all over, thanks to these toys! ;D zozo-Mag

pretty good so far, are you gonna make a koji figure to go with the pilder?

Yep. He's gonna be very small so he can fit inside that Pilder. His body will start with a wire skeleton... and I'll wrap the skeleton with boogers, er I mean CLAY or Rubber! Or Hot Glue melt... anything to form the body. I'm already in the planning stages for the cockpit with the pilot's seat and steering bars as well. ;D zozo-Mag pretty good so far, are you gonna make a koji figure to go with the pilder?

Great documentation of your build. I get bad at taking pics and even worse for putting something nice together for sharing.
Some of the fun, seems to be finding odd things to use for building from instead of building up from wood, bondo, milliput, or flat plastic completely. LOL, I remember a scratch built X-wing when I was very young, the cockpit body was from my Mom's empty, plastic deodorant stick.

You've got the right idea for finding odd schtuff just about Anywhere you go. LOL On my way home from work after midnight I have to walk about 3-1/2 miles home after getting off the bus from Albany... so I walk through the back alleyways scanning for anything I can use (as long as it fits inside my backpack)... ...it seems funny, looking like a trash-picker... ...but no one else would know what I do with stuff I find, if they did they'd line up outside my door asking me to make stuff for them! ;D I get weird looks from folks when I shop through the junk toys bin at thrift stores, too! ;D But my thrift store vendors already have an idea of my work in this hobby, so they always keep an eye out for me and set aside anything I might be able to use. zozo-mag Great documentation of your build. Cool looking L-brackets, better than legos depending on the height needed.

Yep, those L brackets measure about 3" tall (height-wise); would be nice to have them in various heights, but then not many of us home-hobbyists cast objects large enough to justify getting higher brackets (unless they're home-made).
I've started making the mold for the propeller which goes inside the rotor fender... will post it tomorrow. ;D

Damn, the friggin RAIN ruined my plans for today to get some Balsa wood at Hobby Lobby. I haven't slept since I got home from work at around 2am this morning, and I'm still awake after making a two-part mold for my Pilder's propellor all night, and I have to work later this evening at 5pm... ...I'd better crash a good nap now. ;D Just checking my emails and forums.
