Holy crap Bourno... I cannot believe how much of a difference that made. At first blush I thought you were showing an update for the real Grendy piece you were working on... That thing looks great. I have new hope that a recessed Groin/cod piece and some legs will make this Goldorak a real winner...and not the stripped down moped we and our European friends got.
Fantastic work Jumbosmith!

If a jumbo were in seriously Mint or New condition, I'd leave it alone. But if a jumbo were in old, used, or beat up condition... I'd say Go For It and MOD that beotch! In any case, it's stuff like These that make this hobby so special. Thanks for the Jumbo Luv, guys! zozo-mag

Great great work. Now that's how the Mattel Goldorak should have look in the first place.

On the photos, I had to trim the popy reproduction sickles on the back side to fit the thicker chest and still doesn't sit down nicely at the shoulders.
I am pretty certain in the next couple weeks, I am going to take a somewhat fresh poured popy sickle that is still a little bit soft yet and manipulate it to fit the mattel chest better. And then make a new mold of it then.

I think from now on, I am just going to send anything new I make to Ray (eyeone) and save him a day or two before buying it anyway Thanks Ray for posting up your Goldorak. I appreciate all the support you and others have given me on the custom or reproduction parts.

Man, I'm going to have to get that Goldorak chestpiece....looks AMAZING! Any thoughts about doing leg shields and wings for Dangard Ace? I have a nearly perfect looking one, but it was stripped of those parts I'd love to restore him to the glory he deserves!

I don't have a Danguard, so not going to be possible from me, sorry.
I had an offer to loan me a leg shield piece earlier this year, but with my time and investment to make a reproduction, it wasn't in the cards for me to do it without a need myself for cost justification.
If something changes in the future, I will update.

Did a little on the spazer beginnings. I worked with autocad to adjust the size needed for the ship to fit the jumbo into it. As I plan to build a 24"x24" vacuum forming machine, I need to ensure the design is correct before starting that build.
A couple photos. One of a 20" salad bowl with a scribed line around it. The bowl depth is too deep. After trimming it down, the diameter is more closer to 18". This is fine, as I will be using bondo to shape the outer area of the ship.
On the next post, I attached a photo of a large piece of 1/2" uhmw. The bowl will be placed on top of it and used to create a near perfect round 20" diameter section for the ship upper and lower sections, once I start to use car body bondo with the salad bowl.
With several custom projects in mind for this year, I am trying to do a little here and there when I have some time.

Here is the milled 20" base for shaping things the same. And will be used as a spacer during the vacuum forming process of the top and bottom halves.

Salad bowls and bondo... that will blow my mind. GENIUS!
I bought a quart of fiberglass resin (for cars) and I haven't even started to experiment with it... it's the kind that you lay a 3-inch blotch on a pallet, and add in a small ratio of the hardener... ...for patching small holes and dents in plastic car bodies.
That salad bowl idea is gonna work out perfect for you.
People underestimate the unforeseen power of bowls and other unusual plastics /containers in this corner of the hobby (Tupperware, plastic, metal, butter tubs, whatever bowls)...
...but We know better. ;D

I won this Combattler on ebay the other day. Is coming from Taiwan and hopefully should have it in a few weeks.
It is missing a shoulder yo-yo and antennas, which I will be making parts for. Then, I want to make some custom parts for it:
Standard left arm Round yellow torso part to fit into the red square hole to look more like the box photo Custom, earth mover 3, back piece to simulate the tracks. Won't be functional, just cosmetic Maybe some custom yo-yos for the ankles Possibly something for the knee area to be blue with the yellow buttons instead of white and a couple stickers

You're really the best, man! Any chance to see a Grendizer collar repro someday? Most of the Popy Grendizer have it damaged or broken....Only you can save them all....Please....
