Weighting is horrible but every GoLion figure has had that issue. Yes the legs spring open a lot. But the sheer size is just incredible. The hip ratchets could have been designed better for sure. Overall though I am impressed.

Sorry to hear about all the issues your Voltron and figures have. I still hopeful that mine doesn't have any. We'll see once I get it. Are you gonna sell it then? Just curious... }D No I'm too big a Voltron fan to part with it, like I said a flawed giant Voltron is better than none at all. I'll end up leaving them in their lion modes most of the time, and every time I look at them I'll wish Mattel had put more care into this line. I mean it amazes me that they didn't even get the connection points right. I've had a lot of combining robots in my day, and none of them have ever had connection points this bad. Granted most of them have been from Bandai who actually knows how to make a combining robot, but still... Mattel is only the biggest toy company in the world. There's no reason they shouldn't be able to get something like that right. springloaded, sorry to hear about your issues on your black lion. i have to admit the size is very impressive but i guess is also its weakens making going a bit forward then? i think is the blue and yellow lion, for me there kinda a tiny bit to small. another factor for that maybe is because that open gap on the upper tight of the leg. xTIMMYxCOREx, lmao. well they did tell you they were gonna send you a black lion so maybe the cats name is black lion XD. hey cna you take a pic of the black lion beside your cat for more comparison sizes? The leaning forward isn't a problem based on the overall size of Voltron or the size of the Yellow and Blue Lions, it's shoddy design. One of the first things I noticed when I got Yellow Lion was how in its transformed mode the shin area leaned quite a bit forward instead of being straight up. It made me worry for a moment, but then I told myself it was like that for a reason. The problem is the ratchet positions of Voltron's knees don't correlate properly with the shins leaning forward. They needed to lock into a position a little further back.

The ratchet positions being off is my only real gripe. I have to say Rs weird that for months I have yellow and blue set up as legs and not once did they spring open. But now that black lion is there they do. Wonder why.

But now that black lion is there they do. Wonder why. Do you not have any problems with your leg connections? If there's any trick to get them to lock into place more consistently I'd like to know. My biggest problem as far as the springs are concerned is Red Lion's rear legs (particularly the left one), but I knew this was gonna be the case since testing Red's transformation in February. My Green Lion seems to stay in its locked position, so I don't know why Red is so bad. I have a feeling it's due to poor assembly, perhaps the legs were not screwed down as close to the body as they need to be. In any case, it's really annoying, and it sucks that there's no way to get to the screws and take it apart to possibly fix the problem without risking damage to the lion.

Wow. Black lion is sold out in 15 minutes after opening online checkout at 9 am PST. I opened 3 browsers at exactly 9, got in on one about 15 minutes later and tried to buy 2 and boom! Sold out already. I went right away to ebay and purchased one BIN at $99 + $12 and some change for shipping. It sucks but I need to put my Voltron together!
I suspect they didn't have that many left to sell online.
Can you guys imagine a profit of about $30 just like that. I wonder how much more this black lion will be now that you have to buy it aftermarket. I'm sure people will pay a hefty price to acquire it just like the red lion.

Just make sure they are angled right and the feet folded in, the tabs out. Works like a charm.

So I bough my black lion this morning on ebay after these were sold out on Matty's website. I was lucky I paid $99 + shipping. Just checked my email and the seller refunded my payment saying he posted too much on ebay and not have enough stock. I say he got greedy because now just about 5 hours after the prices have gone up to about $180+. I don't think I want to spend that much for this that should have been $65 toy. I will be selling the rest of the lions and picking other toys.

To be fair with tax and shipping he was $85
But yeah I bet he reposts it for more than $180+!

You could try waiting for a bit and see if things cool off. It's somewhat unlikely considering it's the black lion, but prices often settle on hot items after a few months when the excitement wears down and the market stabilizes.

Just as I suspected... the seller who refunded me my payment for a $99 BIN auction has one relisted and is going for $180+ now and 17 hours more to go.
Oh well. I will take Mr. Xiombarg's advise. I will wait to see if I can get one when the market has settled down.

Just checked his items for sale and he has now 2 auctions in there for the Mattel Black Lion. So definitely he is not out of stock. Just got greedy. I will definitely report this seller to Ebay and leave a negative feedback.
