I fired "the Princess" from my Voltron Pilot Team. I have the original five pilots in it - Keith, Sven, Lance, Pidge, and Hunk. The Princess is just their cheerleader. ;D

For instance the legs can move a full 90 degrees, which is in theory would be great, but without proper knees the most you'll ever be able to bend the legs while still being able to keep Voltron on his feet is a single ratchet forwards, or around 23 degrees. Same goes for the outward movement. Voltron is able to do a full split, but there's no way to utilize more than one ratchet of outward movement while also keeping him stable because of the lack of knee movement. It's a colossal blunder that really hurts the toy, and SOMEONE should have caught it. You're right. Regardless of all this I still really like this figure, but what frustrates me is basically what you point out, these are fundamental issues that any real designer should have recognized before they ever even moved past the notes on paper stage of the design process. I mean, the issues this figure has are so fundamental that it's almost kind of dumb being issues in the first place. It seriously makes me wonder where the focus of priorities were to begin with? Profit margins? Costs of production? How far a head will fit up a sphincter cavity? I don't know... But again, with all these gripes. I would much rather have this figure than not, and it is a fun figure if you can make yourself look past it's deficiencies.

I'm afraid those lions are stuck together for a good while. Like Daioja, despite I like the separated form so much, since it's combined form is so awesome it hasn't de-gattai still

Will get them potty trained ASAP.
Saw this at the matty forum:
While I get what he is saying, I kept looking at how well my Voltron is standing with both arms out while holding the sword. I hope the reviewer was able to pull out poses that are stable and not just left it the way it was shown in the video. it would have been a shame to totally bash a figure without discovering what it CAN do, and only focuses on what it CAN'T do.
It occurred to me while watching this video, that half glass full people will enjoy this voltron much more than half glass empty people.

Last night when I got home, I had the black lion waiting for me to play!
I have to say that the quality and paint app on both figure and lion were top notch. Keith's white was vibrant with no blemishes or other quality issues as previously reported. The only thing that I saw upon close inspection was on the right shoulder were the red paint bled over the white sleeve. But then again, it is so tiny that you have to look at it.
The Black lion is quite amazing, and I was glad to finally form Voltron. Sure I did have some legs popping issues like anyone else, but after assembly this is the best jumbo that I have so far.
Yeah, I call it a jumbo because that is what it is. A 24" robot that has the benefit to disassemble into separate vehicles (in this case lions). Show me a past or preset jumbo machinder that can do that. Also compared to other jumbo machinders, this thing does have more pose-ability than Bandai's Neo Jumbo Machinder Shin Mazinger. Oh and it looks awesome standing next to other jumbo machinders. ;D
So if Mattel designed it as a nod to the jumbos from their past Shogun Warriors line, they hit it right. Even with its "issues" this is what I expected from a modern day jumbo machinder. Sure it is not perfect, but I still have to see a perfect Voltron. Miracle Productions may make one, but I might be long gone before they even release it. ;D

That is an awesome picture! Speaking of TFC Devy, that is a clear example of a great concept which turned out to be a rushed and expensive POS, plagued with quality issues. And you do not see that many negative reviews of it. Talk about double standards.

WTF!?!?!!!

Did one of you make that comment about trend master voltron being a monstrosity? That is pretty funny how CDX is negatively biased against Matty Voltron. I agree that the TM one looks like a POS, and can't see how it wins against Matty Voltron in the looks department.
