I'd love to see some pics next to some large SOC so I can get a better guage of the size of this thing.

The more I look at Matty Voltron the more I think it's meant to be displayed while holding crazy poses. It just doesn't look good doing nothing and standing straight. Soon as it's put into action it comes to life.

I'm waiting for the ET Gaiking to arrive to see if I want to keep it or not. I'm not warming up to it as much as I thought I would. Keep your eyes peeled on the For Sale thread... }D

Nice pics Maz. I'm glad to see somebody finally showing it next to a jumbo machinder, which just goes to show that when it all boils down, this figure is a transforming, poseable jumbo, and all even considering it's limitations is still really freaking cool.

Yeah, despite the "Adult Collector" phrase on the package, this thing is still a TOY. And it looks great posed as a toy.

It has been a long while since a toy is able to hold my interest and excitement over it for so long. Even when I got Black getter (which I had wanted for a long time) the excitement was pretty much all gone after I assembled it for the first time. It's been over a day and I still find myself giggling when I handle this Voltron. I guess it being a "toy" toy and not a fragile piece of glass really helps. But at the end of the day it's the combination of size, poseability, and gattai-ability (new word) that makes this piece different from anything else in my collection.

Same here. This Voltron just screams to be messed around with. Totally built for play. ;D

The more I look at Matty Voltron the more I think it's meant to be displayed while holding crazy poses. It just doesn't look good doing nothing and standing straight. Soon as it's put into action it comes to life. Until a light breeze comes along and knocks him on his ass. I don't even trust it to be able to stand straight up with the way he's prone to leaning forward, forget about "crazy" poses.

That's the thing, he is more stable when you pose him than standing straight up. Mine has been holding it's pose all day long and is stable.

The more and more i look at this figure, the more i cherish it and look at it as the Voltron toy 90 percent of us wanted as a kid. This is just a really good piece all around. Im wondering though if somebody will be crazy to see if they can modify the arms where they can turn at the elbows but i dont think its possible.

This is just a really good piece all around. Poor design, articulation hindering action feature, unnecessary inaccuracies, overpriced, horrendous quality control. Yeah... really good piece all around.

the spring feature doesnt really bother me much as i move the joints in a way it wont active a feature. It still does every once and a while with yellow and blue lion, but instead of looking at all the negatives about it, lets look at the postives. Even i thought this figure was going to be a complete disaster and of course if he is just standing in a normal stance hes going to look a little ehh, but once you pose it, just like the post above he comes to life and he is pretty awesome for the height and size. In considering, its not like we are going to play with him like a kid would seeing as we are adult collectors, but i like they made this for not just collectors, but for kids as well imo. The joints stay intact, even if the arms look like they could drop, but its pretty tight in there so far. Theres been times i would test the stability of the connection points just to see if they can easily or accidently come out of place and they stayed in just fine. The price could have been lower and the they could have made a swivel ratchet joint to make the elbows turn(im still wondering if somebody could mod this, would it be possible, but im not going to tarnish my voltron this time lol). Overall i think theyres alot more good about it then bad.

springloaded, if you don't like it why don't you just sell it on Ebay? Now is the time to do it. I really like this Voltron and would not get rid of it even for the crazy amounts it is selling on the secondary market right now... >$800 plus!!! ;D What I am going to do soon is build it a stand so if it ever tries to fall on its face, it will not be able to. I haven't had any problems with its stability so far, but I do know that if it gets bumped it will most likely go down. But at least it can hold its own, unlike the Bandai Aquarion GD-99 & GE-01 which take a miracle to stay up without their stands. }D

I've been able to get him to hold some action poses, but it is limited, and it's tricky to get him placed just right to hold because he's so top heavy, but he does look really good in action poses.

I would put quake hold under his feet for long term display for added stability and peace of mind. What figure doesn't fall when you knock it? This is a huge figure and thus a much bigger potential target to get knocked over. It's the nature of a two feet figure.
TMZ, please post pics when you are done with the stand.
