Diana A's wrist sockets were insanely tight. So tight in fact that I wasn't going to bother forcing the balljoints into them with excessive force, and instead used a dremel to file down inside and around the socket ever so slightly until it was still tight but not so tight as to make me fear I was gonna break the hands trying to put them in, let alone pulling them out later.

And so my SoC Mazinger fembot collection comes to a close. Plus I'm pretty sure I'm well past the halfway point between "How many Showa Rider figures I already own" vs "How many Showa Rider figures I don't own yet", too.

DC Maz front and center. On a side note, I can't say enough good things about these Hobby Base risers I got from HLJ. So fat the only thing I've found that fits perfectly into a detolf case. Highly recommend! Ooooh, X-Plus Shin Goji... Nice displays.

Got the Orguss, 31J supers, and spartan. do you recommend getting Orguss ? i know nothing about mega house and there isnt any review for it The Orguss looks fantastic and the paint finish is very nicely done. I was going to skip both versions, but then I saw the Olson Special on display when I was in Japan last year, and was sold. The nice finish came as a total surprise. Luckily both went on sale over the course of time and I was able to pick them up. Having said that, I'm not in love with the other modes, and haven't really had time messing with the transformation. So both have remained in robot modes and never transformed. The joints are ok, but no ratchets. Because of all the joints required for transformation, it's kind of fiddly to handle, and somewhat awkward to pose. I don't think anything is locked in place in robot mode. I'm a big Macross fan, and by extension Orguss got my interest. I'd only recommend it if you're an Orguss fan, as it's the only modern rendition of the design. If you're into handling the toy and doing a lot of posing, this figure may not be for you. I should also mention, swapping of parts is required for transformation. Not a perfect transformation.

I never transformed my Orguss either, but mine is not that fiddly, maybe because all the joints are spanking new and very tight. It poses well and very solid. The backpack locks in place fine, but when you unlock it, it has a funky multi-jointed spine that turns the robot into a diecast origami (kind of like some of the modern Macross valks) and take a while to align back in place and lock up the backpack.
I had a couple not so good experience from older Megahouse gokins, but this Orguss is actually their good stuff. Too pricey for full retail, but if you can get it at a good discount like locidm, its a worthy purchase. And this thing is not a featherweight. Actually has decent amount of diecast in it.
P.S. I don't think you need to swap parts for transformation. But certain mode is recommended to use extra parts so things hold securely (mainly the tank mode with the add-in back torso plate, if I remember correctly). But I could be wrong since its been a few months since I looked at the instructions.

Thanks mpchi for the clarifications. I do remember there are two to three different extra parts each for a different mode. When I was looking at the instructions it wasn't apparent that the extra parts are optional but it would be great if mpchi is right.
I thought the shoulder area was fiddly in that the entire shoulder assembly moves up and down when messing with the arms. Perhaps the shoulder can be locked too but I just haven't spent enough time with them.
Ps: I have the megahouse Galatt and it's a total disaster. It was so close to being a very cool toy with a nice transformation. But it's not to be. I agree that the Orguss is much much much better.

Those are indeed optional pieces stated in the instruction sheet. A bigger piece to help lift the backpack in Tank mode, and the smaller piece for Gerwalk mode. So it is still a perfect transforation figure as advertised. Though Locidm is right about the shoulders. It has multi joints with odd angle swivels that can take some fiddling to get the right angle you want, even when the joints are tight and not floppy.
