Well, the internet was still kinda "young" back then; and collecting Japanese robot toys must've been much more hard work and greater difficulty back then than it is Today. Just imagine what this hobby was like BEFORE the age of Computers and the Internet. Before the late '80s, there was no such thing as Home Computers. Apple Mac and IBM were just barely starting to market their machines to the general public, and the first home computer was VERY expensive. Meanwhile, as a late-teen, I was busy doing the typical teen stuff in life... at school, at home, hangin out with friends, playing in bands, gettin into trouble AND going to church! lol The ONLY exposure to Japanese robot toys that I ever had\ was with my Monogram Shogun Warriors model Grendizer kit, the Raideen kit, a couple of Micronaut figures, and my Shogun Warriors jumbo Great Mazinga. Other than that, the only other toys I've seen were the small chogokins, Popy toys, and diecast Shogun Warrior figures all displayed in the storefront windows of Hobby/Toy stores. But I never knew their brand names, only the familiar robots and spaceships from their anime shows. I had no idea I'd ever see the toys (SOCs and SRCs) which we now have today. Back on topic... I would be amazed to see SRC versions of Astroboy, Prince Planet, Astroganger, Ultraman, Mikazuki, Gaiking, and some of the popular super-robot pilot vehicles. And then..... an SRC Supercar Gattaiger! zozo-mag

That gashapon Combattler, in my opinion, has got to be the biggest Gashapon ever made.
I'm used to seeing gashapons much smaller than the Eternal Heroes Mazinger-Z figure.
I used to have a Getter Poseidon gashapon that came with a toy lot I scored from an eBay auction during my first year here at RJ... RJ member Captainamerica and I were showing one another our figures and we decided to trade a few back-n-forth. He needed a Getter Poseidon gashapon to complete his collection of Getter gashapons, so I gave him mine along with a one of my Yujin Mazinkaisers in trade for an SOC GX-01R Mazinger.
(Captainamerica hasn't been here since perhaps 2007... ...it's like he vanished!)

We do have an RJ member who goes by that username, but we haven't heard from him since that time. Around that time was the last I heard from him, I think I remember he mentioned moving to a new house somewhere in his region, down south U.S. He started that "Toys In Action" thread. zozo-mag

Oh, thank you! I didn't know that Raideen was an SRC! So it is 15cm, not bad! Yeah, it is great! I don't know why folks here keep calling that Combattler a Gashapon, because it is as much a gashapon as the Eternal Heroe or MSIA figures. Gashapons are fixed posed ABS little statues. This Combattler is WAY far from that! }D

The Combattler came in them plastic round balls that was dispense by these machine. There is a clear black version. I got both versions of the Combattler. Not all gashapon items are fix posed figure.

There is "gashapon" written on the paper, it's technically 5 gashapons in one figure! And I think it's made of PVC, not hard plastic
What's the right price to buy it? I found it at 70 dollars on eBay

Didn't know Gashapon just meant "gumball style vending machines". Just learned something new. $70 USD???!!! Might as well fork off another $30 and get an SOC GX-03! }D

I suspect Astroboy would be an SHFiguarts Astroboy would be more of an SOC release rather than an sh figure. If Doraemon and Hellokitty can have an SOC then Astroboy is a much more deserving character to have one. I can never forget that Unifive Astroboy chogokin that is one of the best Astroboy figure I've ever seen.
