It has the head and feet of a Dexter's Lab robot! I will definitely pass on this one until Amazon is selling it for $20 shipped... }| Hmmmmmmm...... if I were to buy this green booger from Amazon, what could I use from it? I dunno... but I'd definitely take it apart so that I could study its design and joints. Probably use it as a template for making enemy SRCs for my SRC Mazingers. I like its "ribbed" waist... I could certainly use that part for an SRC Garada-K7. The arms and legs, too. It's blocky square feet would start me a custom SRC Boss Borot! Nevermind, I'll sleep on it. lol ----------------------------------------------------------- Here's a couple of better pics, courtesy of CDX... zozo-mag

I can actually make a Doublas M2 from this src if Bandai ever released it but then again I'm such a cheapskate that I prefer not modding the toys I buy cause I'm afraid of ruining it if I ever had an accident while modding.

You don't have to ruin the toy itself... ...you can cast a resin copy of it and modify the resin copy. zozo-mag

But I might try molding a figure one day but I'll cast it in metal instead since I really dislike handling resin because of the mess and the smell. Also if you're using silicon for molding be aware that it shrinks after a while and the items you cast will be smaller than the original item you molded it from.

Apparently Bandai doesn't have to worry about making 10,000 of these in a production run for it to make sense from a financial standpoint. Where as Toynami won't make anything new unless they know they will sell minimally 10,000...(ahem Masterpiece Vehicle Voltron). Sorry had to mention it, even if a bit off topic.
Back on topic, I would like to see SRC's of classic enemy bots to fight the Mazingers/Grendizer/Mazinkaiser SRC's I own. Also Tetsujin, Black Ox, Giant Robo etc...I have more fun posing the revoltech versions of Tetsujin and Black Ox locked in mortal combat than just having a static figure standing there engaging an invisible enemy.

I doubt Bandai would make SRC enemy robots. A lot of us actually want this to happen but seems the trend is going to more recent popular robots in the SRC line and enemy robots of old super robots aren't marketable in the eyes of Bandai. It would be nice if another company would make src sized enemy robots instead since there's little hope that Bandai would make it happen.

At least 2 as regular release and 5? as TWE.

Ogre was one, but it became a good guy later on in the show. God Reideen was another baddie, which also turned good... somewhat. What other regular release enemies where there? I know Black MightGain was an exclusive, Anti-Gurren another baddie exclusive, Armored Core Hangman was also a bad guy, right? Which one am I missing? Koukubogar was not really Dai-Guard's enemy, and the Alteisen Nacht wasn't a baddie either, right???

True there were some baddies released in the src line but not the classic enemy robots that a lot of old school super robot fans want. I don't really blame Bandai, it's normal for a company to want to earn a lot of money on the products they release.

It just strikes me odd that Bandai doesn't seem to think they can make money on enemy SRCs like Garada K7, Ankoku Daishogun, Gin Gin or King Gori, Lazengann, and even Palparepa Plus. Even if sold as Tamashii web exclusives, I'm sure these would sell out a lot faster than a "chrome" repaint of Shin Mazinger... }D

I don,t get Bandai either sometimes. ET also makes some strange choice in robots they release...like Danguard,Shin Getter, GodMars.
Makes no sense.

So then, I don't understand why Bandai can't make those two Maz enemies as SRC figures as well. But here's the thing: I'll bet if any one of us were to make our own custom SRCs of the enemy robots, Bandai and Go Nalga would be all up in our butts pissed off about it if they found out. The horror Never fails. --------------- Come on, BANDAI, quit bein a schtuck-up Beeutch and Break us off some of that Thun-Thun! zozo-mag

You know what I would like? How about a re-issue of the Mazinkaizer SKL? It is a cool figure, but the pricing these guys overseas are asking for on ebay is absolutely insane IMO. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is it astronomical or not? I could buy a couple of SOC's or 2-4 figures of anything for the prices...I don't get it. Is the demand that high for that particular figure??? Help me out RJ experts....

SKL is too short and not in scale with regular Mazinkaiser

Okay...I get that and that it was a Tamashi Web Exclusive etc...but seriously. Is there a high demand for this particular figure to justify the pricing?

SKL is too short and not in scale with regular Mazinkaiser Nothing is in scale with the src regular mazinkaiser ! He is even bigger than grendizer and shin getter 1 ! It follows its own scaling system:D

Okay...I get that and that it was a Tamashi Web Exclusive etc...but seriously. Is there a high demand for this particular figure to justify the pricing? If there were a high demand for the Mazinkaiser SKL SRC figure, I would be feeling it by now. By that, I mean I haven't been seeing any "feverish" fan-pursuit for this figure since after all of its hype died down... after the third 'episode'. ( Or, perhaps I haven't been looking further around the web or paying attention to it) These days, the ambiance in this hobby feels as though the SRC Mazinkaiser SKL figure had "never existed"... no one has been talking about it, even after some folks bought it those who have it never talked much about it. The general opinion was that since this figure was a Tamashii Web Exclusive it would only be available in very limited numbers. Only a few hard-core fans who were willing to go as far as ordering it through its Exclusive status have pursued it, while a majority of the hobby community dismissed it as a "Yeah, Whatever". A majority of fans in this hobby would rather not deal with the hassles of an item that is available only as a website exclusive; because in reality, it would feel like a financial and postal challenge to get the item. If the Mazinkaiser SKL SRC figure had been a normal market release, would more people go after it? Damn right, they Would. Because as a normal market release, the item would be more accessible... By a show of hands, how many of you have ever wanted a new item Right Now, if it were to be a normal release? If So, how many of you would get it? I thought so. Because it would be so accessible you could shoplift it from BBTS right out of the web page ad. Okay, if the new item were just a limited website Exclusive, how many of you want it Right Now and would you be willing to go through the tedious process to get it? I thought so. Because unless you actually live in the area where the item is located and shipping from, you're S.O.L. zozo-mag

Having a TWE item on the SRC line counters the idea of a "budget" gokin. It doesn't even benefit Bandai in the end cause it's the sellers that make the money when the item marks up because of rarity. I'd still like to have a Mazinkaiser SKL but not for the ridiculous price that it's currently asking in the market. It would be better to make extra accessories as the TWE items instead of the robots. By making it TWE exclusive, it is just an artificial way to create a rare item in the market.

Thanks for the heads up and opinion on this SKL Mazinkaizer. I think the figure is really sweet and the accessories are bad ass, but I just needed some affirmation that I was making the right decision to "not" pursue this character at this time. Christ for the prices on Ebay, I could buy 2-3 30th anniversary Lion Voltrons and form a band.
