Drout, you are making assumptions. First, the pictures are clearly not from the front, they are from below - not ground level below, but about chest level below. Only a blind person can't see that. Second, Getters have nothing to do in the Mazinger Canon. But like I stated before, the same applies to the Getters and their sizes - the new ones are taller than its predecessor by a head. Third, HLPro can call it manga version, but then again, only a blind person will not see it is the anime color schemes they are using. Fourth, SRC figures are not sourced from any manga. They take the original and tweak it for SRC designs. You are assuming they are, but they are not. Fifth, I have no idea what you mean about the SOC Tetsujin 28 - but it came from the 1960's anime. Sixth, the SOC Mazinger angel manga was based on the SOC figures, not the other way around. Check one of their mangas out and look at the robot. It is a drawing of the figure. Obviously, the manga was just made for advertising these SOC repaints. Nagai and Bandai would be lying if they said otherwise. And here is proof:  Seventh, with the continued letdowns from Bandai SRC line of unreleased figures and stuff, I stopped counting the chickens before they hatched, so... no HLPro Z-Mazinger figure released = no HLPro Z-Mazinger figure. nope, OVAs will never be an original source because not all animes started from ovas, specially Mazinkaiser since he actually started in a video game and then into the mangas and then into the ovas. If OVA where truly our material source then by this logic it means that grendizer is the same size as Mazinger Z (according to the official e-manga canon) and Great Mazinger (base on the movie GvsGM) which then means his shorter to Mazinakaiser. The true material source would be the still images where they do size comparison to each other (not numerical) which it wouldn't suffer inconsistencies issues in comparison when animated, Gundam's also suffer from the same thing, hell i think all anime robots either super or real suffers animation inconsistencies where they look huge or small. TBH there is really not getting away with it since it would be time consuming to do sucha thing, the only exception to a degree would be when the do the mechas in a anime in CGI style. My first time i really heard about Mazinkaiser was in the SRW games franchise and then later in the mangas, if i recall there was this manga that Kaiser was like 40m and he absorbs Mazinger Z to fully awaking him. There is another manga that is an alternate story where Mazinkaiser and Shin Getter are in it (grendizer is also in this universe but he never appears), Kaiser was a bit taller than Shin Getter in that one as well. In SRW they all look the same height and they are super deformed, so of course the video game doesn't count at all. For Mazinkaiser the best source is the OVA series. Even when the manga comes out first, the figures are always taken from the anime. See Getter Robo and Mazinger Z for example, all the figures you can buy are taken from the TV series. Manga and video games count nothing |

One high-end figure that I do recall coming from the video games is the Max Factory Mazinkaiser. But I think that is the exception to the rule.  }D |

Getter Ark figures are taken from the manga because there is no Getter Ark anime
Getter Go figures are taken from anime, if I remember correctly
SOC Tetsujin is taken from anime remake made in 2004, the kid has the grey jacket
SOC Tetsujin M is taken from the manga cover, but it's nothing but a light recolor
Z Mazinger is taken from the manga because there is no Z Mazinger anime LOL
SRC Grendizer is SRC Grendizer, the manga versions look all the same
Grendizer is supposed to be a bit taller than Great Mazinger, look at the shoulders
Great Mazinger a bit taller than Mazinger Z
So yeah i think the SRC-Hero Collection scale is pretty good: Mazinkaiser > Shin Getter > Grendizer > Great Mazinger = Getter Dragon > Mazinger Z

Since the anime scales are all over the place from one show to the next, and the folks who came up with official heights were smoking crack when they did so, to me it is more like this: Shin Getter>Getter Dragon>Getter-1>Grendizer>Mazinkaiser>Great Mazinger>Mazinger Z. }D |

The other oddball is Shin Mazinger from the anime. When Shin Mazinger makes its first appearance in the show, the narrator states that it is 18 meters, but then says that it is bigger, that it is 30 meters tall. So who knows how big Shin Mazinger is really supposed to be...  }| |

Man you are obsessed by this fuc*ing Grendizer taller than Mazinkaiser, there isn't a single clue that tells us he is taller. He is shorter! How can he be taller when he is like 2-3 meters taller than Great Mazinger? Did you see the crossover screens? That's how Grendizer si supposed to be, not taller than Kaiser Getter Dragon looks exactly like Great Mazinger in both crossovers: |

Because it's Mostly a retooling of Mazinger Z. also, Holy hell. I DO see Getter Poseidon. which is good because he is in Desperate need of a Ver 2.0 like Dragon and Getter 1...Liger, Getter 2, and Getter 3 are fine in my eyes though...which is weird given how old the figures are all Getter 3 really needs is just some yellow paint on its arms and hands and Done. Getter 2 is Perfect as is, and Getter Liger only needs that Drill variation it gets in Armageddon/DaikessenStill...another Topic for another day... I hope Bandai does Shin Getters 2 and 3...even if they were just TWEs...they need to be a Trio for once... |
