I didnt paint the top, to show original color, the dark spots by where the sword goes in, is some type of stain, it shows just how light the coats of paint are. but they still cover perfect ( I could of used a cleaned to remove the stains )

This was scuffed with only a Mr.Clean magic eraser , all it does is remove the gloss finish, so the paint can adhere better.

This was a high gloss paint, I will try a semi-flat/gloss next. and scuffing your jumbo with the eraser , isn't like using sand paper, or even a scotch brite pad, it puts micro fins scuffs in the finish. If there are deep scratches in you JM, from kids damage, try using a scotch brite pad ( maroon colored) it will take some time, but the scratch will slowly be removed !!

I've never used an extra hardener additive, but most my airbrushing experience has just been painting models previously.
What brand or which hardener are you using? I did a little reading and sounds like 4 parts paint to 1 part hardener was a rule of thumb. I also saw some mention of Sherwin Williams Flexible additive V6299 from an auto forum for painting non-rigid plastic vehicle components.

I don't know what hardener this was, I bought 10 colors and 1 hardener from TheRedline shop, they mix their own paints, and bottle them up, the hardener bottle just says HARDENER.. but home improvement stores carries an ENAMEL hardener, and a flex additive is a good idea to use on any parts that might flex, and Light coats, just enough to cover the material evenly is what you want, never heavy coats of paint..but I'm sure you knew that, since this is what you do !!!

I use a 6:1 ratio for hardener, when I use my airbrush, I always have 3 eyedroppers , 1 for reducer/thinner, 1 for paint and, 1 for the hardener, I put masking tape around them as a marker, so it's easy to measure

I was touching up a Goldorak head for a fellow member, and needed to custom mix the colors for his horns, and I was pretty pleased with my mix....I should have sprayed a light coat of silver first, so I could have used less coats of my custom color. Well here is the almost finished results...let me know if I did Ok

About 1/2 " was worn off the tips of the horns, I touched up the eyes to brighten them up, the silver all over, and the lite metallic blue on his lip, which is the same as Raydeen. Also doing D-17 head.

you can see the color difference between this other one. The one I repainted, actually looked more like the color it is now, than mine, I'm using to compare. But mine was actually painted different. The dark blue tri-angles on the neck and chin, on mine they are painted...on the one I'm redoing, they were masked off, and just show the dark blue plastic..was they painted different ways, by different shops? or was it poor Quality Control. I do know that the heads were made in Korea, and not France/Italy...its stamped on the bottom of the head

They even have the same over-spray marks around the gold horns....but thats because they used the same paint template, I bet??? I would just like to see every version made, And there is always a few that, someone did a custom paint, during lunch, and it made it out the door !! I found Hot wheels, redline cars, that were custom painted, and still in the package, they call them lunchbox cars...Bot does anyone out there in RJ land have a Goldorak, that has the blue sections of the neck painted, and not masked off
