Wow, thats perfect...Thank you, I never thought of looking at those....I'll spend hours just looking in different stores, to find items that could be used for building scale items...I even tear apart electronic to use the parts inside. But I never thought about a wooden part like that !!!! Thank you very much !!!

I've been thinking on what materials can be used that are inexpensive but strong enough for this project. I remember a member here building a custom Brain Condor to scale with the SOP PX-01 Hover Pileder, and he made it out of cardboard. I'll look for that thread and post the link here later. Anyway, it came out so good that one would think it was an official Bandai release, and it was pretty strong too. Have you consider building a frame out of plastic (sliced up PVC pipes - which can be bent with a heat gun) and then covering the frame with thick paper, cardboard, or even thin plastic sheets (recycled plastic bottles and containers)? It would cut on material costs and total weight of the Fortress. Just a thought...  }D |

That is truly amazing work.....I'll have to see what I can find to lighten it up.....cardboard seems to weak....but I guess even a wooden Photon lab, will get busted if dropped by the postman !!!!! I would like to have 1 or 2 of every styrene item, that hobby place has for sale.... But thats not going the cheap way.....the problem I have with plastics is getting glue to hold....and paint.....but I can figure a way around those....  |

It hit me like a ton of bricks.......the perfect to and bottom for the Mikelos........its light and the perfect shape.............can any one guess ?? it's plastic, and you can only buy them at winter time...... |

I think I'm going to turn the parts I have so far, into a vegan starship I have some sketches..maybe that will be the best way to go for now, until I get the lighter parts for the Mikelos? Just a thought !!! |

actually yes...I figure i would sell them 2 different ways....complete for x dollars and as a model kit..i will precut all the parts and you can buildit..and it will less than 1/2 of the prebuilt cost.
are you interested ? I want to do different styles also...
