and the Maz has a good idea for the body of goul....the only problem i have with plastic, is getting the paint to stick..its a pain in the ass......... Krylon, valspar and rustoleum all make spray paints exclusively for painting both indoor and outdoor plastics (i.e. toys or plastic summer chairs) or "multi-surface" paints as well. They can be used with or without primer, come in several different colors and finishes (not always close to what color you may be looking for). You can get them at any paint retailer or Home Depot, lowes, or craft stores, etc. they do paint up items a little differently and take some getting used to. Maybe you should look into those.

I have tried those paints, still all will scratch off easy, The best way is to scuff the plastic, then prime with an epoxy, then paint and make sure to use a hardener. you will have less chances of it scratching or chipping. for me cheap plastic is ard to work with, it;s hard to glue, cover with a spackle, and tough to get paint to stick.. I like wood, and metal...I can tig weld 2 razor blade together, or wild 2" thick steel, easy to prime and paint...wood shapes easy,,,it's strong and easy to use..and even light weight..if you get the right type !!!!!!Maybe if I get a little more time in, working with plastic, it will be better for me ?? Even using foam, is new to me, so this is a see how it goes project.....

Wait, is that purple one made entirely of foam? That is awesome! Will keep the weight down for sure! How hard is it to work it, the foam I mean? Does it shred apart when cutting it, or is it pretty solid? Now, I think it is on the thin side. Check out these pics: What do you think? }D

awesome pix, those will help a lot..is that one a paper craft ? and yes it's going to be thicker, I'll try to post some pix today, and the foam cuts pretty easy as long as your blade is sharp..I still need a hot knife, maybe I'll make one today, after we get our tree.....

First one looks like the small toy that has been posted before, second one looks like papercraft, and the last one appears to be CGI/photoshop.

The one in the upper corner of the CGI pic seems to be the one from the anime, and it is much thinner and more like the strofoam one you made! The toys seem to be thicker than the actual show pic, maybe it should be thinner .

I'll post the pix, of it thin, and thick, and see which looks better ?? If I really tried to make it scale size, for a 6 1/2 Mazinga z..it would be 6 feet wide, and 7" thick in the middle section.....how would ya like to have something that large hanging in your room !!!

This one is the most accurate. I just watched a couple of episodes and this one is like the standrard size. Those cartoons were not very consistant with keeping the same shapes and sizes all the time.
