You are getting two? ;D But you hate ET figures!!! I've been watching the anime (in Italian dubbed) and it is definitely awesome! BTW, the single robots are really not much shorter than the combined form in the show, and if you think about it, the combined form uses the same arms and head as the single robots, so it makes sense that it is not much taller anyway. The old Godaikin was definitely taller because you couldn't swap parts on the single robots to make their torsos smaller, so we ended up with a bigger combined robot but with disproportionally small small arms. I really like what I see so far, and wouldn't doubt it comes with more stuff and features - like the three control ships that dock in the back of each single robot. }D

Well it says 17cm so that's either the combined mode or the individual robots. But going by the metal balls I'm guessing it's for the combined mode, since Evolution uses standard sized metal balls on all their joints for this line.

I knew about Albegas but had only watched the intro of the anime. I found an Italian dubbed version of it just last week and have seen the first four episodes already. It is really cool... much better than the Golion anime for sure! }D

Yeah the Golion anime has cool villains, really evil, but the show is rather juvenile compared to other SR anime of the era.Even as a kid I thought Dairugger Voltron was much more cerebral. The different races on the team for one, storylines, the Drule plight etc.And ofcourse the actual robot, the head on Dairugger alone is more aesthetically pleasing then all of Golion..Ofcourse even then I went against the mainstream liking Vehicle Voltron better. It was shown about as much as the Golion version, but no one I talk to that grew up then remembers it really. Now its the "cool thing" among collectors/anime nerd circles to say you always liked vehicle Voltron better. ;D

I looked at the metal balls too and they look proportionate on the (3) individual Alpha, Beta and Gamma robots as they do on other standard Dynamite Action robots. This could mean that each of the (3) robots are 17cm / 6.6 inches tall, thus having Albegas be much taller!

I had the Matchbox toy as a kid. My grandparents got it for me. I think, if I remember, it was in the Sears Catalog! I loved that thing! It was not until I became an adult that I got any Lions. Ironically, I do not have a vintage Vehicle Voltron anymore. Waiting..Waiting and Waiting... on the MP Voltron to fill a void. The more and more I look at this Albegas figure the more I get really interested in it.

I've always like Vehicle Voltron, but for me it was just a lot easier to get Golion stuff. Look wise they both have their positives and negatives. Personally I wasn't a fan of robots that have heads for hands while Dairugger could easily be mistaken for a conehead if not drawn right.

What's the die-cast content on these Dynamite Action robots?

Just the screws, magnets, and metal balls. Everything else is plastic.

Although I like GoLion alot, I always wondered, why they wouldn't show more Vehicle Voltron. I thought there was more storyline to explore and it was NOT "In the FAR reaches of space" like the Lions were. Similar to STAR WARS IV - Tatooine was cool, but the action was by Curoscant. I don't know if I had a preference over GoLion, but I definitely wanted more story development in Vehicle Voltron. Sadly, I have yet to find a good translation of Albegas. I downloaded a few, but no Subs.

Shape is good but 200 $ for a non- diecast toys... Ouch ! The only toy I got from them is the Shin Jeeg : I was very disapointed by the plastic chosen for this one. Anyone got recent releases ? How is quality ?

I got their Gaiking, Kotetsu Jeeg, Kotetsushin Jeeg, and Mini Kotetsu Jeeg. They are plastic figures and very expensive. On the other hand, the CM's Mechander Robot figure has worst quality plastic and it is super expensive too! Anyway, I like them a lot. They look really good, and come with a ton of accessories (except Mini Jeeg). Just temember these are magnetic jointed figures before you buy them. They will never be as stable as a figure with mechanical joints. I wish they were cheaper, like less than $75 each, but unfortunately that is not the case... unless they go on clearance! }D

Baron, I have to disagree with you on the Gaiking. The plastic is no less quality than a Bandai Gundam model, and much better quality than the CM's Mechander. The ET Gaiking also comes with a lot of more intricate accessories than the Mechander DX, which consists of mostly ABS/PVC plastic gashapon style ships. I have both and like them both a lot, but for their price, Gaiking is a much better buy IMO. BTW, JoshB from CDX did a review on the Gaiking and liked it as well. }D

TMZ there is the large ships too with the Mechander do you have the DX set? It has like 5 ships! The gaiking mostly is way floppy and falls apart alot, main reason why i didnt like it really. It reminds me of a marionette that flops on the floor. ;D You and I could go all day on ET Gaiking Vs. CMs Mechanda lol.
