Yeah, passing on that. Damn that looks good...and huge!! Already got the MP grimlock and Scoria on order.....well might be a good occasion to display in both modes Was just reading on Fb that CM's has been declared officially bankrupt |

 I have nothing to say. ... Yep, the tail is rotating 180° to get store in the back, clever ! FT is incredibly good : this toy offer a good expression (joints = good posings, face expressions...) Let's hope for their own Grimlock or a better add-on to turn him more tall and bulky.

     Ok, IMO, the minus : wrists and knee do not have double joint I know they want to stik to G1, but itcolud be better if you have the choice to fold in the front claw in forearm (in robot mode). But folding system for rear beast legs is clever. |

You know, if Gigapower hadn't released the prototype pics for their Snarl, I would've gone with Scoria right away. However, I need to see how the dino mode for Snarl turns out to be before I make my decision. Scoria's robot mode is definitely beautiful, but I still have some issue with some of the design choices for the dino mode.

FT stick perfectly to what MP line has now settle in term of design, joints, etc. Gigapower comes with a scale well prepared and offers more details due to the size and also complexity joints : just compare Scoria shoulders joint with thosse on their Snarl. Maybe I am wrong, but it looks like there is a waist joint on Snarl. I mean engineering is maybe better on GP... Maybe. I will pick both release, just to have a good point of view on it. (and because 3p toys are better than official releases)  |

Yep.
I digged some impressions from TFW2005 member Oldcasper who already got the figure :
After playing FT-04 sample for a while last night, I’d like to share some info here.
FT guys told me, all detailed designing was finalized before mass production.
However, some flaws will be improved, especially the joint issues.
Hopefully the pictures and my comments can help you to judge before placing the order.
Sorry for the dim light and bad photography skill.
Also, it was so pity that there was no comparison with MP08.
Pros:
1. Material and color is compliance with MP08
2. Thick chrome and nice painting job
3. Die cast chest and toe
4. Crus designing is fantastic
5. Dinosaur mode is slimmer than G1 mainly due to the long tail
6. Robot mode is in great shape from different angles, poseable and stable
Cons:
1. Head is too flat from side view
2. Wrist has to twist downward to hold the sword tightly
3. Most joints are tight except the crotch and wrist (probably will be improved by the factory)

Nice review... the + : design really stick to MP Design AND G1 Cartoon design the - : aaaaarrrrh another robot with a backpack In comparison, MP-08 is way too old : engineering is okay on Grimlock, but props are a bit wrong. Look at its thighs : so skinny... Grimlock to get more bulky and "savage". In fact, grimlock could be retooled with just biger legs (alt mode), it will give him a silhouette more bulky and it could be enough with feet extensions... But these thighs... hello lady ! It needs a new version. Let's wait for the next Dinosaur in game (Gigapower ?)... But I am happy to get soon this FT Scoria. Beautiful ! |
