You know, after seeing the video reviews, the elongated body is not too bad. And the rear legs transformation is just genius! However, I'd like to see Gigapower's dino mode before I spend any money on 3rd party dinobots.

That certainly makes choosing more difficult. I think they both look great in robot mode, I just love seeing how bulky "bruiser" Snarl is.

Maybe I'm just a sucker for Dinobots........but by the looks of it, it is going to be the perfect excuse to get both! One in Dino mode and other in Robot mode
And MP Grimlock platforms or not is going to look like a midget now

I am sure FT and GP will not present the same Dinobot prewiews at the same time. FT got a bit distance in advance : they will probably show the Swoop prototype (and let the Kronos from Dacatoys be released and propose a better Jetfire design). GP is stuck in complicated schedule : it will be too early to present a Slag because of the Scoria release, presenting a Grimlock is Dangerous due to the MP-08 re-issue, Swoop is the pupose of a sale war... So my bet on Sludge.
Other scenario : people will choose both and won't necessary stick to 1 company to form the Dinobot crew. I agree with Skizz, personaly, I will try to have the money and choose both. Except Official MP line, I do not care about other Hastakara TF toys.

Gigapower said in ACToys forum that their dinobots WILL have diecast (and chrome plating too). They also said that they will try to improve the feet. bbs.actoys.net/read.php?tid-1862343.htmlI'm completely torn now. It means that the MP-08 Grimlock I just bought is completely... useless?! But I guess you can't have enough Grimlocks...

But I guess you can't have enough Grimlocks... Completing a good design on these feet is not so complicated... Chrome plating is nice but fragile if not well prepared and fixed I have 2 MP-08 : regular Takara + Takara comics colors version... With all these MP Dinobots, 1 shelf is needed for sure I digged some news about GP crew on TFW2005 boards : -> Originally Posted by pawpaul3000, author of the colors digibash They do come to this forum they've actually contacted me after seeing my digibash, I've also posted necio's digibash to their QQ group. The molding process will begin in April , so we will be getting more information from them over the next month.

Seeing these pictures of Snarl and learning that they will have dicast and chrome I think that's enough for me to hold off on buying FT Scoria. If these guys are bigger, built with quality and care, dicast and chrome, new Grimlock then I've found my new Dinobots. I don't think I'd buy both... way to expensive.

I'm torn. I love the look and size of the Gigapower ones but the FT ones look good and have proven reliability. Their also being released now while the Gigapower ones are still in the molding process now and have a zero track record. I think I'll get the FT ones for now and see about the Gigapower ones, if I find I like them better I can always sell the FT ones.

I think all the detail or patchwork adds to idea that the Dinobots were pretty much made with stuff Wheeljack and Ratchet found around the Ark when on Earth if you follow the cartoon continuity.

That captures the G1 spirit perfectly doesn't it? Heck, it's practically an upscaled G1 model with added articulation
