If this z was real life inspired, itwould never be green lit for production.
All you had to kill this thing would be disable those exposed pistons on the waist.. A lousy handheld RPGs missile would prob do it. He won't be able to turn..... You approach him from behind then pummel him to the ground.

Just finished watching the review....wow. Thank you CDX for confirming my concern.
That looks just horrible. The 300 dollar toy with ugly ginormous feet wobbles through out the review like its on a stilt. It can't even realistically hold its own sword which btw, looks totally out of place just like rest of this z design....I mean that sword could of belong to any character. The sword proportions way off too. If anything it should of been more bulky and bigger. But it's still would look outta place with its dainty lady hands....on a super dopey bulky robot...
Wait... Why does Z have a sword anyway? Ex gokin and 1969s should not be mentioned in same sentence as this abomination. That's not cool to prof robot sato San. Its not even close...... Horrible just horrible. At least it sounds like its using quality ABS plastic and not soft vinyl.
Oh his orange lit eyes does look super cool though....

oh man.... he's even got a handle on the lower back of his head? Is there any spot on that Mazinger that DOESN'T have a handle? Next life, I wanna come back as Hellraiser... instead of pins sticking out all over my face and head, it will be Handles. lol zozo-mag

Okay that looks million times better then Mazinger H.. Even the handles are much more coherent and flows with the rest of the design. Her upper arms and lower legs are short though...proportions are tough but they're supposed to be pros.
All she Needs is some diecast feet so it won't wobble constantly when josh,s doing his review.

That's actually how most Japanese people's anatomy is, especially the lower leg portion being short. I think that's why most of the Kamen Rider and other Sentai figures look a little bit wimpy-ish. They are probably sculpting those figures based upon Japanese models.

That Aphrodai-A right there is lookin so Hot! I agree with Greengetterguy, she looks consistent throughout her form and sculpt. And that same consistency is what Should have been done for the Maz-H figure. Okay, so, any idea what her weapons feature will be? Perhaps she'll be able to shoot her jeegs? zozo-mag

I do love those beautiful clickies...the cutter gimmick which I didn't know is really super cool. Lit orange eyes fall in love beautiful.
But those wobbles... Wobble wobble wobble!

I think ThreeZero know how much people dislike this new MazingerZ (mainly hip joints design), they are pushing very hard on their marketing campaign right now.. Many video/photo preview come from different places.

Many video/photo preview come from different places. Dislike? I have seen many people drooling for it! The only thing I kinda dislike 'bout it are those "drawer pulls" on the shoulders. In fact, I am starting to see this toyline as a threat to the Fewture Models EX Gokins. I wonder how would a ThreeZero UFO Robo Grendizer look like comparing it to the upcoming EX Gokin Grendizer? Both are damn scary. Both are damn expensive. Hmmm!

I would gladly drop $800 on a Fewture Ex Gokin Grendizer & Spacer set, but would not even take as a free gift that monstruosity ThreeZero put out as their take on Mazinger. Hell, I would not take it even if it was a gift from my daughter... With that said, the Aphodite looks quite better. That one I may go for. }D

It represents Frankenstein's Mazinger to you? LOL! I find it freaky, powerful, realistic but again I am not comfortable with the "drawer pulls". If ThreeZero makes Grendizer, they should restylize him in a VERY DIFFERENT way from the Mazingers. It's an alien robot, so, it should get its alien treatment, IMO. I am impatient to see the EX Gokin Grendizer to make my first judgments... I hope I am not gonna be disappointed with its design. Addition: I also don't like the 2 waist pistons of this Mazinger Z, cuz if they designed to be a realistic kickass war machine, one hit or missile to those and he's a junk!

If this thread is anything to go by... it's only a handful of people that don't appreciate it's unconventional design, and therefore feel the need to keep bagging it... over, and over again. If you're not interested, just move on. It's almost as though they are trying to convince themselves they don't like it...

Well, let's see how many people really like it. It will be easy to judge by the number of people that actually buy it. Deeds, not words. }D

Well I like it. I like the handles, I like the big legs, I like the size. I am even 50/50 converted to the hips. I pre-ordered it at bbts. If I want to look at a beautiful show accurate Mazinger Z I have my DX SOC. If I want a Mazinger Z to pose with some other huge robots and kaiju then this threezero fits the bill. I like the fact that it is very different, frankly there is no other way I could have been convinced to buy another Mazinger Z after the DX.

But, just like the similarly pricec and/or even pricier Fewture releases, it should have people that like it so much that they will bite the bullet and buy it - because they LIKE IT SO MUCH. I just want to see how many do... But, TBH, I don't expect to see that many. }D
