It does look better.  Here is my try...   Wow, that genuinely makes the figure look 10 times better. Now THIS looks badass. Kick them handles off to the curb, and it will look even Badassier. With this image in mind, I now can see many of you buying this Maz figure just
to modify those features to look exactly like, or close enough to, what we're seeing
here in this doctored image... Am I right? I thought so. zozo-mag |

Wow! instantly looks like every other rendition of Mazinger Z already out there... thankfully, artistic flair prevailed.
Can't wait to see threezero's Aphrodite A, I just hope there's some hot pink in the deco.

They are there so as to be used by fellow giant robots if the need arises. Ever consider how difficult it would be for one giant robot to grasp and hold onto another giant robot. I would hook him by those handles and suspend him in mid-air while Aphrodai pegs him! I'd hang his feet up in them shoulder handles, and Aphrodai can peg him Real good! I would flip him into the air like a pancake, the way Shin Maz did to Energer-Z! There. Is that enough imagination for you? <snap! snap!> zozo-mag |

I still don't like this rendition, the photoshopped version looks miles better. I also have an issue with the face and the handles really need to go. The design plus the price and material really just makes it look much worse to me.

I liked this in every way. It sounds like most people here had issues with the design but the way I see it I have my DX Mazinger Z for the traditional look and this was just a cool thing on its own merits. Unfortunately I am going to cancel my order anyway. After seeing the pictures of the upcoming 3rd party Scorponok from Maketoys at TFcon I need to redirect the funds to save for that. It seems like the $400 utopia from them is close in price to this but offers a whole lot more fun at the same size.
If Three Zero reads this, I think the lesson is - strike while the iron is hot. If I could have bought this in the months since the announcement they would have my cash right now and I would have another Mazinger.

Agreed. But im little concerned its not showing dead front view on her. Her shoulder and torso looks super wide.....and thats not attractive on a fembot. The designer should of skipped the shoulder puff piece. That would have solved the bulk football player shoulder pad look....

I'm okay with the larger shoulders and the wider chest. Does anyone besides me find it funny that Mazinger Z has wider thicker child rearing hips than Aprhodite?

If anything Aphrodite should have his hip design. That would have given her the much coveted the thigh gap. I dont know.. this designer is def rookie when it comes to a percieved ideal human proportion. He is def getting better though. 1000000 times better then Mazinger "Hips."
