Still working on the body, it's hard to interpret the original drawings since some of the shapes on the body don't really translate well when made into a real object. This is why I said I would trade a thousand projects like the "Robocains" for one of your customs. Need I say more...? }D

I'm deciding if I should use brass for the joint connections since it's a much harder metal and its properties are much more suited for these kind of parts. I just really hate working with brass. High heat while soldering tends to make it release toxic fumes and brass powder is just as dangerous when inhaled.

A respirator mask should stop the brass fumes from getting to you.
Meanwhile, if you need more Dai Apolon pics, check my latest entry in your PM.

I managed to make the stomach part and the shoulder pads. I decided not to articulate the shoulder pads since it would definitely alter the look of Dai Apolon.

For now I'll make most of the parts, I already have good idea on what joints to use on this figure.

Gravewolf.seriously, can you make a mould of this or something so I can get one out of resin at least? I really need a Diapolon. This is the first custom of any fully made robot that ive really liked,I usually hate home made stuff, they always look just that,"home made",disproportionate, and have too many human touches if you get me.This looks spot on,and like a real release.

Molding with my equipment is certainly difficult, our molding tools are meant for smaller jewelry and even if I can mold it casting would be another issue since my casting machine can only accomodate small pieces. That's the reason why I choose to make it manually instead of sculpting one out of wax and then casting it to metal.

I'm starting to make the lower torso for Dai Apolon, I can already see the problem with his design since there's a part between the groin that is gonna restrict his legs movement when going forward. I'm thinking of making this part articulate in order to move when the legs move forward. I've also added the chest design which I'll later add crest.

I'm was thinking of expanding the hips a bit but it might affect the look of Dai Apolon. Thankfully I noticed that my soc Danguard Ace shares the same type of blocky lower torso design so I'll examine this figure to help me with my problem.

I do not know if I am being bias because this is one of my favorite super robots, but every time I log into the forums I am looking forward to your updates. By the way, I noticed a par of legs in this picture. Are those the legs of another custom robot?

@@cff That's the copper and brass Garada K7 I made a month ago. It's also posted here in the fan art and customs section.

@cff Thanks bro I'm making figures right now to keep my gokin addiction in check. This is my way to scratch my gokin itch or else my budget will get screwed and my girlfriend would probably kill me

LOL! I know what you mean. I just wish I had a quarter of your skills... I just had the luck of being in a job where my hobby and my work can co-exist and benefit from each other. Skills can be learned as long as you find the right tools and the right person to teach you personally.

That's the reason why I choose to make it manually instead of sculpting one out of wax and then casting it to metal. I know it is a huge matter of trust, but I (or Baron and I) would be willing to give you a cash deposit if you lend us the figure so we can cast it and make silicone molds to make resin casts of it. We will then return it to you, and pay you a fee for its use. We need to have that modern rendition of DIAPOLON!!! }D
