Anything by FansToys, FansProject, and MakeToys gets a huge thumbs up from me...they seem to know what they are doing. Mastermind Creations as well...although, I suspect I'm done with the completion of Feral Rex.

Depends on the material. But, if FansToys continues their trend of employing diecast, yeah...I can imagine a city-bot north of $500USD easy considering the pricepoint for MakeToys' Utopia -- which is all plastic.

Argh. The more I see of KFC's Blaster the more tempted I am to get him. It doesn't help that I'm a sucker for candy apple red robots. I just wish I could see and feel one in person to get a handle of how solidly designed he is :/ MP Soundwave was nice and chunky and felt solid and that's what made me fall in love with him more than anything else. KFC doesn't have the greatest track record for building beefy, nice feeling robots.
