I've been scratching my head to try and figure out why the look of the OM Trailbreaker and Hoist bother me. Then I realized - the upper torsos look good. The legs look good. It's where they meet in the middle that bugs me. the crotchplates seem far too small for the thickness of the thighs - it gives the impression of an overly small speedo. It was the same problem I had visually with the Voodoo Ironhide and Ratchet, as it happens.
I'm not writing them off 100% just yet, but so far the Badcube versions look a lot better to me, which is funny because as far as I can tell their Trailbreaker also has a fairly diminutive crotch (lol) - I think it's the angled thigh cuts on the OM version that just makes it stand out more.

The only thing bothering me, is the red headlights on the truck.

Maketoys Megatron looks stunning, but looks like a nightmare to transform, with all the panel breaks seen on the gun mode. Hope I am wrong.

Thanks guys.
Toyer City seems to have the best deal on these guys. Any idea if you have to pay upfront or just a deposit ?
Anyone else dealt with them before?

So... which one is going to be your Trailbreaker and Hoist? I'm having a hard time deciding for myself. I like OX's Trailbreaker and BC's Hoist, but prefer BC's overall scale to MP Ironhide better...

My opinion will be a bit "oriented and influenced" i like Badcube products, specially the minibots : Brawn and Warpath are very good, so far the best take ever, that's why nobody proposed (yet) a version. But here, waht can I tell from Perfection Series versions : -> based on OX studio design style, with a touch of anime and G1 toys, going very anime style will be squarish, shrunked with odd volumes. So we put a efforts on aesthetic, balanced robot body, limbs (c'mon check the legs...). We do not want a figure having visible hinges, tabs and holes everywhere, just shaped surface (this is the anime rule here eheh) Hoist arms kibbles can be attached or not, your choice. We listened people and gave the light grey instead of white (here it's just photobashing). -> Going silver could be nice, but it has to be a full molded part, to inject the silver colored plastic. -> under the knees, its a part with 2 different colors... Altmode is realistic, matching licenced MP politic. -> I have to check this color lights case. Will give a feedback asap. Hoist windshield will probably be blue like Trailbreaker. Options and accessories are in the discussions, but we are close to the release. Let the surprise works now. -------------------------------- Preorder of the Maketoys Megatron are out : I will totally buy it, the feedbacks I had are really good, transfo is top and fun. I think Chimungmung has it for a descent price.

I think I'm a little backwards from most people in my opinion that if I were to mix and match, I'd probably get Badcube Trailbreaker and OM Hoist - I recognize that Badcube has done a lot to differentiate their Hoist from their Trailbreaker in terms of design and transformation (the lower legs are completely different!), but at the same time I'd like to try out the OM version of this mold but for whatever reason (be it the bikini brief look or Trailbreaker's face, I dunno) I just don't like the look of the OM Trailbreaker. On the other hand, their Hoist looks decent and I like how tidy the towtruck kibble is in vehicle mode even though it's not as accurate as Badcube's is.

DX9 vs XTB: Maketoys for me...

Video of the DX9 showing the transformation + overview, Ben is enthusiastic but unfortunately he kind of misses out on a few things like the rotating waist joint below the armor skirts (he instead fixates on the transformation rotation joint that's above the skirt but posted FAR behind his spine and blocked by kibble) and he calls the scythe a gun :lol
Still, the way the arms, shoulders, and legs collapse and expand to bulk up are absolutely marvelous. Brilliant engineering design.

...preorders went up today at BBTS and other places for Despotron. $150USD. He is the most expensive of the trio, I believe...but, MakeToys' track record probably has something to do with it.

Here's Bold Forms' Gladius (I always think of Konami's great shooter when I see that name!)...

Should go very well in the binaltech/alternator shelf. Can't wait for Maketoys' version too!

XTB's Cyclonus prototype sans final colors. Originally posted in TFW2005. Looking pretty accurate. Hope it's solid.

Despotron looks stunning...
Does he have any diecast on him? If his joints dont squeak, then i might tread 3rd party water again.
