From the size comparison of DiaBattles, I don't see how they could be much more than a Masterpiece Transformers car robot out now,($70-100) as the size would be similar. DiaBattles is a pretty small toy.

DiaBattles is a pretty small toy. I don't think it would be smaller. Just look at some of the TF MPs that were upsized i.e. Star Saber. Btw latest colored pixs of Dia Battles: TAG Hobby » [?] FIGURE? 212?: ?? Non-BANDAI News

Looks nice, really really nice... Takara has some courage to release this. They are aiming collectors and dads. There is no modern cartoon scheduled, that means a promo specially done by the specialized magazine and "bouche à oreille" (mouth to ear). Hasbro will never make a move without a marketing supported with a cartoon... For sure it's a Masterpiece market line and will goes around the usd 150-170 figure. Just hope they will learn from Bandai SOCs about the quality and engineering.

Hopefully this is TT answer to Bandai SOC line for their pre-TF robots.
Since nowadays diecast on their main TF Mp line have been rather sparse, hopefully with this Diaclone reboot line they will upped the metal content for it.

I'm thinking it has a small amount of diecast probably around the hips or knees. Plus those flip down landing skids on the little flyer component look kinda like die cast. It's also probably around the same size as Transformers MP-10 Optimus Prime. I would guess 8-9" in height in robot form.

Thats good to know thanks.
TakaraTommy and AE is bad combo when it comes to diecast content info..... Lamely, TT used to list diecast on thier product but when i d buy it theres non....except for screws! Hate them for that crap they pulled. So they have a history.
I have a feeling TT director hates die-cast. He continue to deny me of metal on Masterpiece for one lame reason oor another....I cant believe how light MP 10 is when i left him to dust the other night.... Pretty sure its the same guy who killed Binaltech.
But iam glad at least theyre slowly giving me token metal here and there....

So did anyone else preorder this yet? This is one of the first preorders for me in a loooooooooong time. I was just surfing the web and saw this: www.transformerland.com/image/inventory/hires/151002po/MP-Dia_Battles.jpgI was not aware of all of the different combo variations between the three parts (aside from the individual three ships and the combined robot mode, it looks like there are 7 other modes that can be created by various combinations). This looks incredibly engineered. Some modes remind me of Orguss / Macross pieces. So psyched now. -------- Also found this youtube video. The earlier link in this thread is not working.

Kind of cool. I think I really prefer the normal colored version, but if that never existed, I might be tempted to pick this up.
On another note, that motorcycle and rider look REALLY rough. I would hope that they were much further along at this stage, considering the quality and details of the robot itself.

What Myles mentioned about development, along with the fact that I didn't care for the original toy, is why I didn't get this one. Hopefully the next potential releases are ones I like, and I wish they would dial back the heavy detail aesthetic a bit as well. I'd like them to look a little more statue-esque like original diaclone toys.

I love those old (now cheesy-looking) Diaclone commercials. Awesome.
