This comparison shot right here. Less is more. The problem with some of these 3P design, Too busy looking. I used to think that voodoo's proportion was a little better. But standing next to the official Mp, the MP's proportions isn't bad at all. Less details and solid blocks give the figure more character and likeness to the toon design. These current photos of Ironhide are amazing. Vangelus was right, why Takara hired that crappy photographer and paid for ugly pictures really makes no sense. |

It looks like the wheels are attached to the hip kibble so you undo the back of the pelvis take out the screw that holds that red "nub" that you see in the pics from the hip kibble. Re-attach the red "nub" back in the pelvis and you can then still attach the wheels to the back of his butt because they look like they tab in there. If you want the hip kibble gone you will lose the wheels on the back, or if you want the hip kibble higher up covering the sides of the waist you just reverse the wheels from left to right which raises the kibble higher. Thanks for breaking that down Chen. Sounds easy enough now that you mentioned it. Can't wait to get mine. BBTS just sent me the notification that it's arriving soon! |

Thanks for sharing this Chen. Finding no real superior Ironhide figure at this time, I decided to order the official one  Does the mod turns it into a partsformer, or can you still transform the figure without detaching the sideskirt? |

Ahhh, at times he looks good, at others he looks awful. The odd proportions of his hips with the big flat grey plate being so far recessed from his chest just kills me. I want to like him. Maybe I just need to see one in person.

Looks better without the hip kibble from the front but it doesn't bother me enough to take a screwdriver to it. Plus these pics look better than the official ones lol.

The promotional pics were garbage. I still dislike the hip kibble but not nearly as much now. Given how much effort was given into filling in the leg gaps, why wasn't there a way to move the "kibble" to the back section and cover the wheels.
Face sculpt is so much better than when the initial pics were made available.

Got my figure today and after awhile that hip kibble is less of an eyesore to me. Its still not as good looking as I would have liked but I'm not gonna change or mess up the figure.

Got mine yesterday and to me he just looks so awesome that I don't even notice the hip kibbles. It's there but for some reason it just doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would have seeing all the pictures. I picked up my Ironhide from my post office and opened him up yesterday, and I like hime more than I thought I would, but the hip kibbles still bother the heck out of me. I see it as a minor oversight that could've been solved by the designer, yet they seem to be unwilling (or forget) to go that extra mile. I'll try to get pictures for comparison later.
Meanwhile, for me:

Great and solid transformation - everything locks in place
Excellent poseability
I got a nearly perfect figure, so great QC?
The homage to the G1 Weapons Platform is definitely appreciated
Comes with a whole bunch of accessories to recreate your favorite cartoon scenes
Head sculpt is awesome!
With the exception of the aforementioned kibbles, it's actually a very clean figure!

Hip kibbles! No amount of positioning or angling those damn things will make it go away!
Accurate car mode, but why the omission of rear view mirrors?
I guess for me, the positives outweighs the negatives. Hopefully one of the crazy modders will sell their kit to get those kibbles out of the hips up to the lower ribs where they belong. Then it can be perfect.
