it's official! It's Ironhide! And he looks glorious. Plus he comes packed with more accessories than most SOC's! This pretty much guarantees a Ratchet follow up as well.
They also announced a Masterpiece Optimus Primal for Beast Wars 20th Anniversary. Ummm... Oook? Yeah not into monkey bots myself (well unless somebody releases a King Kong Escapes bot) but I am happy for the BW fans.

nice! any idea how much is it going to be? If I get lucky and see the pre order like I did with MP Tracks then I will get the official. Hoping to get it at the 60$ and less range. Otherwise, wait for the KO/bootleg version. My reason to love official MP's, the cheaper knock off alternatives. The money I save go towards more premium 3rd party stuff like the combiner figures, PE Leo Convoy and them Dinobots like Guttur. |

If I may derail this topic the Takara-Tomy Transformers United Devastator seems to be the ultimate version when compared against Hasbro's version.

I think he looks pretty good, but the face seems a bit off to me. I can't put my finger on it though.

The comparo :  TFC head is really nice. This MP Ironhide brings something new to the MP line : pelvis and bassin are more shaped. Whole body is more compact, flatten on surfaces (limbs) and silhouette is vey dynamic. It looks more like a MP line V3... Vehicule details except windshield are totally hidden in robot mode. |

I think the MP looks the best, the others are more Dreamwave/IDW inspired then G1 or cartoon based.

^^ Yeah. There's something really off about this latest MP reveal that doesn't speak to me the way the previous Takara offerings have. Ironhide just looks so slim and svelte with his narrow thighs and legs. I guess it's fairly appropriate for many of his G1 appearances, but it just looks off from how I envision him in my mind, I guess. None of the other offerings really look all that right to me either, though, so I don't know, maybe I'm just too hard to please.
What I really want to see is Ratchet. That's really what I'm waiting for to put on my shelf.

I don't know. I have the iGear Weapons Specialist standing in for a MP Ironhide, but I'm not totally in love with the Takara version. I did switch out the head on the iGear guy to the more "robot" looking face and I find it does a really good job. I have a problem to sort out now. LOL
