now this is a delicious looking Mazinger, way better than the earlier prototype, the limbs aren't skinny as i thought and the overall proportions look very sharp and good
this is truly the year of Mazinger z

Either it's looking better or I've seen so many pictures now that it is growing on me. That video definitely was the turning point for me. I hope they sell that set.
Imagine a SOC line of bases!! They would definitely make money off us.

Everything is looking good its the price im worried about.... Do we know how big this is compared to past SoC Mazingers? I'll admit that the figure is starting to grow on me as well and I initially hated how it looked, but that price tag is ridiculous if it's only as big as its predecessors.

The amazing thing about that video is his profile looks so natural. The arc or bend on his body feels very organic.
Till now , most of my figures looks stiff or unatrually straight on dead sideview no matter how i pose it to look natural. Very impressed.

I think $140 is more than reasonable. GX-01R 40th was around $90-$100 last year, which was just a repaint of the 1997 GX-01 with a few, minor modifications. It's 2016 now, with this being released in 2017. The GX-70 is a brand new, and much better Mazinger Z with more diecast metal, not just a repaint of the old GX-01. BTW: It's the same height as the GX-01R.

Im in no means going to debate about it. But fact is not all of us has always that extra cash. Some of us have families to feed and other priorities in life. Dont get me wrong im so stoke on this new Mazinger Z release. And i totally did not point out that this is a simple repaint nor a simple mods. I guess what i meant was Im more worried if where will I get the $140 or should I say $185 Canadian buck$?

GX-70 is the same height (170mm) as the recent 40th, but will be the slimmer version with seemingly updated articulations/joints. Not sure if it'll have more or less diecast than the 40th. $140 is quite a pricing increase for what we can gather as "improvements". I still think that stupid new base is the one unnecessarly adding to the price-increase...

$140 is a bit high I think, though not outrageous. Its just part of the Bandai trend on asking for higher price on all the recent releases. Just look at GGG related releases and Golion's price tags.

The GX-01R+ is a repaint of the GX-01R, with a new head sculpt. The GX-01R is a repaint of the GX-01. They are all GX-01s, but the GX-70 is obviously a brand new SOC, and a much better Mazinger Z. I'm not saying anyone is wrong for thinking this is pricey. I am just saying that I am surprised some think that. I personally think $140 is a very reasonable price, and I had thought it would actually be higher than that. So $140 is a relief for me. As for the diecast contents, I don't know if it has more. I simply read that it has diecast forearms and fists, unlike the GX-01 variations. There is also licensing costs. They have to make a profit. Otherwise, we can all say good bye to SOC.

i totally understand @ mojacko point of view, this year is so packed with awesome releases and most of those release are under "get now or pay the double later" i had to drop alot of POs so i can get what i want the most $140 is a bit to much add $27 and this is the price for GX-31v 40th anniversary when it was on PO lets hope we get a decent PO discount, im thinking between $100 - $120

All what you have said is true except for Gx01r being a repaint of the gx01 ... that is incorrect. Gx01 was the first soul of chogokin and back then if wasn't meant to be the crown of Bandai figures. It was a semi gokin semi plastic model to build, therefore the quality was not on par of the later gokinns starting from gx03 combattler. Therefore making a totally new figure which is the Gx01r was necessarily. Gx01r and gx01 barely share any mold parts , it is a totally different mold. The gx 70 will be lighter I weight I think ... since metal parts are skinnier in comparison to gx01r and the shoulders are plastic I gx70 while they are metal in gx01r. But gx70 looks fantastic

I think it's decent.. not too expensive or cheap for SoC this size. Good thing it's not coming with damage parts lol

Good thing it's not coming with damage parts lol also its not coming in December i think the damage parts would make it even more awesome and unique if they included it i wouldn't mind paying extra
