It can still be ordered even now. Odd.

Amimi and CDjapan sold out, but I guess HLJ secured a good stock, it wont last much longer I think.

The GX-71 is still available from Amazon. I think the GX-70 will be open for PO soon no problems.

when has there been a soc in the last 4 or so years that has sold out immediately from preo and stayed sold out? i cant think of one at all. they are always easy to get. even very late in the game. the most difficult one that i can remember is voltes 40th but they were rereleased shortly and the shelves were stocked.
macross on the other hand is nearly impossible to get without a preo but soc/src is a walk in the park.

True, sometimes you get a higher price during the rush to get one. I always wait and get it later, only figure I pre ordered was the 40th anniversary voltes as it always sells out here.

yeah. I recall voltes being sort of difficult for a while then they rereleased it really soonand it was everywhere. and great point, gravewolf! numerous times ive seen and paid higher on preo for soc/src than it has become just a short while later. the most recent time was for src giant robo almost immediately after release it was on sale at amiami for about 75 plus the 15 or so shipping and I bought it thinking I had a deal. however the very next week it went to 63 shipped prime on amazon lol.

I feel bad for the people who paid $100 for SRC Giant Robo. Now it's $75 from amazon. still expensive if you ask me because the lack of diecast in it.

Really would feel bad for paying even 75 dollars on src giant robo for that lack of die cast. I mean sure it can be expensive given the development and manufactuturing costs but when i compare it with my ko mpp10 prime which is waaaay bigger and has die cast and only cost me 60 dolloars (also probably costs 30 dollars to make) which is really well made I sometimes think that the pricing on most toys these days are overblown.

I'm just on the fence about this one. I've never been big on owning multiples of the same character unless they're significantly different, and I'm not talking about just engineering. Since I already own GX-01R, I'm not seeing a lot of point in getting this one...except for the articulation. In which case it'll still stick out among GX-02R and GX-04.

The first SOC Mazinger I owned was the GX-45 Shin Mazinger. I never liked the way GX-01 and GX-01R looked, even though I prefer the classic Mazinger Z over the modern Shin Mazinger.
When the GX-01R 40th came out, I thought it was not a too bad looking Mazinger Z, and it looked better next to the other SOC Mazinger characters than the GX-45 did. So I sold my GX-45 and replaced it with a GX-01R 40th.
I will now replace my GX-01R 40th with GX-70. The GX-70 is by far the best SOC, classic Mazinger Z I've ever seen.
I try to keep my collection nice and small, quality over quantity. It saves me space and money.

what a coincidence SOC GX-45 was the first Mazinger i owned too, im not a fan of having the exact same figure with minor updates or paint changes, the figure need to have something different to offer that isn't in the other figures, unless i really really love the character with Mazinger z i have like 7 figures, hopefully by the end of this year it will be 10

AE has been excellent for new products in the 8 years I've done business with them. It's only the used products that are sketchy. Not sure why it would be a gamble at all for this release.

AE has been excellent for new products in the 8 years I've done business with them. It's only the used products that are sketchy. Not sure why it would be a gamble at all for this release. Nope, not for me. Always bought new items from them, and only new products that caused me and my buddy headaches until we stop buying from them. AE still owe my buddy a Fewture Getter Poseidon (or its money) and never got back to him and many months, or should I say years had passed. In my case, they sold some of the item that was on my 'pile of loot' and took me like 2-3 months of emails before I finally found out why they never ship my stuff when I asked them to. Almost zero communication until Erika finally see my request and got me back. Which then took them another month or two to find the missing pieces. The Fewture Getter G set was my last order from them (which is also my buddy's), after hearing more stories of non-reply emails from other folks on here, and later Erika is not even working there no more. I used them for at least 4-5 years before the mishaps and their price is great especially on MP Transformers. Everything runs pretty smooth, until that one order has any issue and needs any kind of communication, then you are in for some trouble.

ae is a nightmare. look on their Facebook page. its full of people trying to contact them after they either stole peoples money or sent the wrong items... and not a single person has a response from them either lol.
no way am i gonna throw away 500 bucks.
