I had no idea that people have been having issues with AE. My guess is it's certain products where they have short stock. I don't always buy MP transformers, but when I do, I choose AE (for their low prices). For harder to find stuff like Macross, AE has also been an excellent resource. Like I said, I've never had problems with new items from them in 8 years. Everyone's mileage varies I guess.

Wow...i guess my issue is not too bad compare to others.
My ET jeeg Panzeroid i bought new fromAE had a bum leg. I sent both AE and Evolution Toys the photo and NOTHING! No apology, no token store credit,no replacement part....no nothing.
Just one freaking email fromAE to tell me to send a photo to pass off to Evolution Toys. That was it.

Ggg had the same issue happened with any other Japanese retailer except for HLJ it would have been the exact same result.

honestly when they say the item is SEALED its indeed sealed, i bought from them a new dynamic option parts set but the box was damaged the box content was in bad shape nothing broken but that's not what i wanted to see
without a decent customers service there is always a risk, i emailed them for 1 week without any respond then i went to PayPal and they answered almost immediately with the lames noobest respond ever and they didn't even bother to say sorry or contact me back after that but PayPal refund me in full thank god
this is way i say and most of us say its dangerous to order from AE

The GX-71 is still available from Amazon. I think the GX-70 will be open for PO soon no problems. Yeah, I missed the preorder as I've been insanely busy at work/home the last couple of weeks. Hopefully, I can score one later on from Amazon or BBTS. I don't expect Mazinger Z to be difficult to get...I mean, there's a bazillion versions of this robot. How much can the market really have a demand for it?

I feel bad for the people who paid $100 for SRC Giant Robo. Now it's $75 from amazon. still expensive if you ask me because the lack of diecast in it. Really would feel bad for paying even 75 dollars on src giant robo for that lack of die cast. I mean sure it can be expensive given the development and manufactuturing costs but when i compare it with my ko mpp10 prime which is waaaay bigger and has die cast and only cost me 60 dolloars (also probably costs 30 dollars to make) which is really well made I sometimes think that the pricing on most toys these days are overblown. Sad to say but a KO is a carbon copy of the original one. There was no engineering or designing involved. They might cost cheaper and well made alright but still incomparable with the genuine one. Im not saying i dont buy KO but to compare their prices with legit ones seems far fetched.

also im still wondering why they put alot of squares on his back ? the squares are screw covers this is the new system for SOC , You no longer see the screws The screw covers are a very nice touch, they look like service bay doors to be used by engineers when Mazinger needs oil change or something

I did say that the original had development costs that would bump up the prices and it's unfair to compare the price to a ko but the manufacturing costs of it isn't far fetched comparing a 13 inches well made figure to a 5 inch figure with barely any metal in it. Given that the prices of the srcs have increased I'm just saying Bandai should give us more justification to buy a figure like the src giant robo at 100 dollars. You can still buy the yamato giant robot at 95 dollars which is bigger and has far more die cast content. Anyway lets just drop this topic as it's a bit of a sensitive topic. I do get your point but it doesn't mean I'm complaining about the new soc Mazinger Z. The last couple src releases just really disappointed me.

Im not sure if Bandai will lower down the price for these new SOC Mazinger Z.

In regards to the new soc Mazinger Z i honestly feel it's worth the price and worth including in our collections as it's the best iteration of an soc mazinger released. There are some bandai figures that I feel cheated on but there are times that the price is worth paying for. Almost all his parts are made of metal and I really love the sculpt. It's not everyday you get exited for a new mazinger z. It's also possible that bandai might release a new mazinger z based on this sculpt if this soc mazinger is a hit.

Anime-Island put up their preorder last night. Guess they knew about the high demand so there is no initial discount from the $139.99 price. However they do have a Labor Day promotion going on and you can apply a 12% OFF coupon code and has free shipping and no tax. Rounds up about maybe a few dollars cheaper than amiami or HLJ after shipping, but not by much. Since I shop there often enough, I still have $8 credit in my account, so that helps bring it down a tad too. This is the odd thing about Anime-Island. They somehow refund me a couple dollars credit from my previous orders all the time and leave it in my account, but I have no idea how they calculate or if it was from their point system. But its nice to see it everytime I try to pay new preorders off, and there is often a couple bucks credit to use.

Anime-Island is great if yo live in the states. The minute they add shipement costs to other countries it loses right away any advantage they might have. As a Canadian I rather order from a Japanese retailer, not only they usually have their stuff sooner and cheaper but I get it faster than Anime-Island shipping me stuff up north across the border.

I've not had luck with Anime-Island in the past.

It will always be cheaper to get it straight from Japan. I live too in Canada, and worst and Quebec so very high tax.
Anime-Island has the better deal as a Canadian, even better then BBTS.
