At the end of the day, it all comes down to the SOC GX-71. It's the definitive version of Voltron. If people are getting just one Voltron, the SOC is the one to get. KOB was popular partly because it was before GX-71. And this V2 is popular partly because the SOC is sold out everywhere. I know I will never regret not getting this because I already have the SOC. I do give credit to Icarus on making a cool looking Voltron, but at the end of the day, if anyone is saying this KOB V2 is superior than the SOC, in my opinion they are out of their minds. This KOB V2 is great for people who want multiple representations of Voltron, with the SOC as the centerpiece.
On the other hand, it could be true that not a lot of people seem to be concerned about the licensing issue. But it could be partly due to ignorance, because of false information in reviews, lack of truth from vendors, and confusion at best elsewhere on the internet. Here on RJ, when we talk about licensing issue, we get complaints about it. How else are the words going to go out about how Icarus lying about its legitimacy?
I do hope that the SOC gets released again in the near future so everyone can get a crack at it.

Infinity Gokin ∞01 was and is still a BEAST, an aggressive futuristic ver. of GoLion, a kickass warrior! United Gokin UG-00 is a mix of an upgraded Infinity Gokin ∞01 × more anime design + awesome paint job. SOC GX-71 is a fine piece that looks closer to the anime...and that's all, but it comes as a 3rd choice for me. Want me to say it in my gangster mode? KOB is the manly-lookin' GoLion, SOC is the sissy-lookin' Voltron.And, it's not because one got soldout! You've went outta your mind when you said we are outta our minds. |

Guys I have a question. Instead of going through all 37 pages, could anyone let me know if the already released back version has the same improvements on the future release color one? Trying to decide if I should buy the black one or the color one?

But that's your opinion and I respect it. you will be shocked if you see how people are fighting about this (best Voltron) in Instagram some think SOC some think KOB, i love them both honestly, i think each one have its pros and cons but overall both are a must in every Voltron fan collection Guys I have a question. I was only going to get the coloured one as an alternative since I have the SOC. I was like what the heck is this Dark Voltron there was never a Dark Voltron. But I bought the Dark Voltron and the coloured one after and they are pieces of art! Different than the SOC but I have the 3 best Voltrons ever made... PERIOD!

Damn I should be getting Dark Lion this Monday but now I'm tempted to buy anime version too!! Then that means I'll have 4 Voltrons. I don't need 4. Running out of room already. 😂

The SOC version of golion/voltron when it comes to anime accuracy and because the price of the SOC is crazy high which is why most of those that dont have it will choose the united gokin or infinity gokin version, if both soc or united gokin/infinity gokin is same price i doubt ppl will choose the united gokin or infinity gokin version over the soc version.

For what you get, the $300 SOC (when it was available) is/was a good price considering articulation, quality, accessories, accuracy, etc. If SOC is the standard (which I believe it is) I’d say the United Gokin is the next best thing but a distant second place based on the same factors. The dark version and anime colored version are still awesome and must haves in my opinion. One day people will be wishing they got them when they had the chance. |

I admit I slept on this one(Dark Lion) luckily is readily available for now. Seamlessly Looks great standing next to SoC Voltron. Only gripe is wrist move easily when placing sword in lions mouth hand.
It feels like sleek streamline version of SoC. However, it didn't wow me that I had to have the regular color version.

I was gonna pass on the regular one until I see the high gloss paint. Looks amazing. The SOC, DARK Lion, and Regular UG will all look awesome together.

Does anyone know of a retailer who still has this in stock?
I think the fact that this gokin seems to be sold out everywhere speaks to it's awesomeness. I've got the SoC & the KOB V1. They're both fantastic - and they are both completely different.
The SoC is ultra high quality and absolutely beautiful. I consider it a work of art. So, mine is more of a display piece.
I love the KOB for it's play value. It's completely solid. I love the feeling of an 11" combiner that can be held by its mid-section parallel to the floor, and still keep its legs straight. I love the 360° swivel waist. I love the ratchet joints. This is my my only gokin that my 8 year old son gets to play with; and after several years it's still in mint condition.
So, I'm ready to order an ICARIS. Where can I find one?

I ordered this on Jan. 17 from LCM and I'm still waiting for this to ship. But then over the last two weeks I saw it in-store at Toy Arena at Frank and Sons and Anime King, the latter selling it for $280 total. I guess I could have gotten the item from them and be messing with the figure by now. 🤨

I guess I could have gotten the item from them and be messing with the figure by now. 🤨 Yeah I was Anime King and saw regular Voltron version too and DX Combattler V but for $600 then add tax be over $650. I ordered something too from China and literally took good month and package had huge hole marks and box damage. It was aggravating. I Elected to get Dark Voltron via DHL and took few days. I don't mind paying little extra for prompt shipping. Longer something sits in transit it's prone to get damage, lost or drive you crazy waiting. |
