Where do I get this King of Beast 2.0? That ship has long since sailed. ebay or private seller, if you're lucky enough to find one.

Need help. I did ask this question to the Voltron FB group but I need your opinions. Is Icarus Voltron really good gokin/chogokin like top tier? Meaning, is it worth the $300 plus shipping overseas? I want your honest opinions about this. is this POSE + metal quality?

I no problems with my copy I’m just glad I was able to snag one.

I want your honest opinions about this. is this POSE + metal quality? No for me. Disclaimer:I don’t own one but have handled one in person. To me the mold is dull and therefore the lines on the bot itself are not sharp. If you’re in it for the general sculpt and articulations then you may like it. If you’re looking for SOC level quality in mold and paint, this one is just not at that level. I have had multiple opportunities to purchase at less than $200 but skipped. The SOC was released a short while afterwards and I’m completely happy with that.

I have the Mad Toys first iteration. It’s “OK” for what it was since the only other modern take on Voltron was the Toynami. But then the GX-71 was released and that became the Gold standard for all Voltrons. Personally, I would just save my money for something else unless you have a lot of disposable income. I’ve been learning to buy only what I really want and not buy things because everybody else wants it. Space is becoming a really big issue for me since I don’t sell anything I buy and I’ve only started collecting in 2008.

But it is a bit fragile in places and can have some QC issues. (one of the green lions toes on mine snapped day one just by moving it normally. ) It's a nice figure. If you can find it for $200-220 I would say go for it. $300 seems a bit over priced for it. At that price the SOC is much better Quality wise. But it will depend on what you value in the figure.

I absolutely love this figure. There are two (3 if you count the original Mad toys version this is based on) versions. Black and gold and original color. It is a 3rd party and contrary to popular belief it is unlicensed. I love it’s unique paint and mold. It also has all the makings of a highly sought after collectors item.
It’s super rare. The black and gold was limited to 1000 with less than 1000 in circulation. The original color first run was also 1000 with additional runs planned but never happened. Making it just as rare as the black and gold.
It has a controversial back story.
I belong to several Voltron forums and collectors groups. Every time pictures of this figure are posted there are numerous responses asking about it and where to get one. As more people get into collecting Voltron this will become more sought after figure.
The quality of the figure is actually pretty good. Not as high as an SOC but much better than toynami and the mold is also much better than toynami.
Comes with a lot of cool and unique accessories. The box art is also nice and original.
If you are lucky enough to find this figure at or below $300 and you don’t buy it, call me so I can virtual slap you through the phone. I don’t think you will find it that low anymore as it is long out of production and becoming more popular. Icarus toys is also out of business, so it is unlikely it will ever get another release.
But I highly recommend it.

If anyone has a colored one that they want to sell, or knows anyone who might want to sell theirs, please let me know. I’m still upset at LCM Toys for cancelling my preorder and have been in search of one that’s not a ridiculous price.
