Wow these new pics have me rethinking . If it weren't for the horrible problems I've had with all three previous ones I would be all over this. Does anyone know if the red and green lions are die cast now and are t heir joints all metal not plastic and metal. The joints broke on 4 red lions. I thought it was 3 but they sent me one red lion to replace the 1st broken one I received. If these issues are resolved and they stand by their product and fix the ones I have already then I want one. It really looks cool especially the box and how it ties into the new series where the soc is clearly vintage. Man why did they ever release the first one and ruin my view of their product. I'll probably get one when but one day when I see one on sale used or something. Man I'm usually all over anything voltron so me not jumping on this means my taste buds are still feeling it bad taste with burns and blisters

This looks cool and all, but I can't seem to get past the waist. Looks like he's wearing a girdle. yeah looks like they abandoned that plain chrome waist which surfaced recently and sticked with this "girdle" design hehe... and also looking at the pic.. it seems they reduced the waist size further.. making it more "girlish with girdle"..

The Plain chrome waist isn't from the company. Its a mod that a user did using a V1.

Very cool indeed. But I think I am spoiled by gx-71 build quality and astetics. I have my KOB and that is great, but I could go for more SOC lol

It helps prevent the wife from keeping count.). The EX is one that I will definitely skip. It's a nice figure, but a horrible price point for what it is.

Prevent the wife from keeping count!!! Mine would encourage me to buy some things just so she could buy more Barbie/Doll stuff or diorama supplies. IT'S SO HARD TO RESIST HER TEMPTING ME!!!

See that's the weird thing. She doesn't mind new stuff. It's multiples of the same thing that I start getting questioned over. "But you already have one of those?"

I get it. LMAO!!
My wife has multiple identical items too and I used to say that but I just figured there was a method to her madness and I try to stay quiet about it.
I'm just curious..........how many duplicates or triplicates do you and what are they?
I only have two SRC Zeorymers (I love that robot and actually play with one frequently), two GX-27 Gaikings and two GX-04S King of Space sets. Both of the SOC's were replacements but I ended up getting the first ones back.

My wife hated this hobby at first. She hated the expense. I was excited to build a collection. So, in 2015 I bought 8 Godaikins. With every purchase she grew more furious. I've cooled it some. In 2016 I bought and sold a Voltron collection for a handsome profit. She's definitely more accepting now.
For a while, she hated having the collection displayed on our mantle. It's the focal point of our livingroom. I understand that this is not ideal to most women. But, she knows that it makes me happy, and she's become more accepting. (She has no choice - the Gokins and I are a package deal.)
She doesn't really mind or notice when a new robot shows up now. I was so excited by the arrival of the GX-71. She asked how it was different from all the others. I said, "It just is." That was the whole conversation. She can't tell Voltron from Gaiking from The Great Mazinger. It's all the same to her. The other day, my son was playing with his Matty Castle Grayskull. She asked, "Which one is Princess Alura?"
When it comes to women, sometimes ignorance is bliss...especially for the collector.

Lol I don't think I could get away with the mantle thing, I always joke when I get a new figure and put it up there and my girl goes NOOOOOOooooooooo.... And I ask her why doesn't she want it to there lol she has a pretty good response though, she wants out place to at least look like a girl lives there. I get the second bedroom and my new figure goes next to my tv until I get a new one and then the old one goes on the display shelf.

Yeah, my stuff is largely restricted to my office. The only things permitted in the public spaces are a pair of RAcaseal's that I snuck into her curio cabinet when she wasn't looking. And King Robo Mickey, which is allowed in public because "Disney". I don't have any direct duplicates in my collection. I don't do "mint sealed in box" I rather firmly feel unopened not handled toys are a crime against nature. But she is sharp enough to recognize two of the same bots, at least if the coloring is the same. She spots Voltron easy as it's one of the few she knows.

Did you all forget about the KOB? I did this pick to remind you guys what a kick-ass Gokin this is. Sure, the SOC is pretty much flawless. But, I'm still proud to have the Infinity Gokin in my collection.I just started an Instagram account. I'll only be showcasing Chogokin in this style. If you like it, please follow me: instagram.com/robots_are_art/ This took quite a while. (I worked on this on and off for two months). My posts will not be extremely frequent. But, I promise I will present the Super Robots I love with all the creativity I have to offer. Thanks!
