Is this the unannounced next SOC? I wonder what it says in that text? I'm not too good at reading this stuff yet, but I'll give a rough translation a go. Ahem. "A portal! What lies beyond? A gokin treat for everyone! Tis a robot of exquisite build. Can you abstain? No, you'll yield! But woe to those who enter here, for three realities you must fear. Though it be treasure for your trove, it'll bring your home less space, your wallet less coin, and from your spouse less love. Is it worth it? Of course! This will easily be our best Mazinger yet. That door looks kind of small to be one of the big combiners. It's about right for a 7-8" robot. I think we all agree that anything less than 11" on Dairuger XV is not gonna happen in a SOC. So one of the smaller non combining or minimal combining SOC's. while a GX Grendizer DC does not seem impossible, I think they won't just because we know we almost certainly have a DX Grendizer deep into production. I would expect that one to hit first as we have seen design materials for it. So where does that leave us with GX-76. My safe money is Jeeg. We know they have one somewhere in the pipeline from the advanced design art in the anniversary book. It might be a completely unexpected license? (Kekko Kamen D.C.?) but I'm still thinking Jeeg is the most likely based on what we know. Size, advanced stage designs known, DC connection, Go Nagai yet never done as SOC, etc.
There are a few classic robots long over due for new SOC's. As others have said Grendizer, Gaikeen, Getter Dragon or any of the Getters. Reideen, all leap to mind. (We will likely never see a Govarian from Bandai. They don't seem big on or well disposed towards the studio Knack subjects. That will be left for Evolution Toys.)

Bandai's new approach to SOC reveals is ... different, to say the least, I remember back in the day we used to get teases from magazine scans of blueprints. Gosh I miss Dengeki Hobby.

I'd love for it to be Dairugger.
But I think if it was Diarugger or dragonzord, we'd be seeing a lot more hints and hype than we have.
Do we even know for sure that it will be an SOC?

We know because of the nomenclature GX-76. I mean as far as the upcoming locked box reveal. As far as I know, official hype about the box has never mentioned GX-76. On an unrelated note, I kinda wish we were getting a Dyna Robo SOC soon.  |
