Anybody got a confirmed weight on this thing? I've heard it's over 3 lbs but I find that hard to believe.

This thing is super heavy...i read some place it weighs almost twice as SOC Gaiking? And i believe it.
The review for this guy is going to be bit long, so it might be in two parts. "Gasp"
He required deep thoughts. And tobe honest, im bit conflicted. I can post a short version late tonight...about 9 hours from now? Haha

I dedicate this review to my friend Bigfire ...KA Guiking.... Hey guys I finally had some time with this Guy. First, If you're Gaiking fan or a modder who likes to tinker, this bud's for you. Also he makes an really awesome display AND has a limitless play due to ALL the armor pieces!! But based on what i got, IF you are a normal civilian collector like me, you MIGHT want to wait on second production run or even another version as KA did hint by its subtitle on this product as, "Original Version" due to his "immensity," he will be my first "two part review" Another first is, Normally, as a goodwill jesture and just to be polite, i start with what's good about a figure first. But im gonna start with cons with this guy...

Cons!! 1.The only true EXTERIOR metal parts are his exposed sole of his metal feet and his "back armor"..... 2.His proportion DOES have issues. His feet, skull chest seems bit too BIG. His hands look little small and thighs too short(condensed?)..but i knew that going in so im nitpicking on this one. 3.there are couple of paint qc issues on mine. (Oh and the figure smells due to all the painted plastics...had to air the trays out) 4.A big con, the left shoulder joint and left hip joints are ALREADY loose...his shoulder pad, arms, and hips already has "gravity droop." Its Only few days old!(This is pretty fatal con to me. Id have slayed if Bandai did this) 5.Another glaring issue IS his "wing" and his "star cross" on his legs.. Due to shallow peg and how wide the accessories are (compared to the part they're attatched to), They pop off on many "unintended" touches....annoying. A lot of this is due to impreciseness of corresponding parts.
* also my copy had a unfortunate breakage on his shoulder joint peg...Please becareful when detatching shoulder pad...
Guys i will upload 5 positives tomorrow. Stay tuned!!
EDITED at AUGUST 5th 10:31PM PST...
Due to spring loaded neck for transformation gimmick, Replacing head was real nailbiter...make sure you remove the ENTIRE "chest Skull(the dragon head skull)" then hold firm on "plastic side of the box" (where the head and neck is) so it wont move around when trying to attatch heads..
Another discovery is that KA missed the mark on measurements on some armor parts...that's the cause of things popping off so easily.
The damaged Cross Star peg wont fit too well on damaged lower leg armor, compare to reg ones..
But the Damaged wing fit PERFECTLY to the damaged back armor?...

Thank you for your honest review lack of diecast is a killer for me ... the price is high and I can’t justify paying prime price for a plastic figure no matter how good it looks ... appreciate your review and will watch the five positives

But KA Guiking DOES have a ton of metal inside so. For the lack of better comparison, Please Think of him as a "super" Metal Build?(maybe) Just want to relay that message. That was one of my 5 pro. I will list ALL the metal parts tomorrow tho. (Only You get a sneakpeak of that part of the review haha)

He does look great though. Does being a combiner give any issues?

I just right now attatched some damaged armor and finally inserted batteries for his led gimmicks and.....
Well He looks ASTOUNDING... Photo will NOT do justice how beautiful this figure is (in damaged form.)
This Gaiking will blow everything, EVERYTHING i own out of water on aesthetic...every one of 40 someodd robots i collected. It's "Crazy, weakknee inducing, dropdead GORGEOUS!!"
He looking like some freaking $1000 statue....

Meanwhile, Pros!! 1. A long waited Metal part list.... Nape of his neck(?), shoulders, shoulder pads, shoulder pad joints, shoulder joints, upper arms ( the inner skeleton), elbows, skull"cage," back armor, entire hips, hip joints, thighs( the inner skeleton), knee joints, entire feet are solid metal.... 2. He is a BIG boy! IMHO, THE best looking Gaiking ever with his SUPERB sculpt and excellent hand paint app!! 3 Gaiking is also a gimmick king, LED, magnets, armor dressing, transformation EVERYTHING! (The only missing gimmick is electronic sound effects and firing missle..) 4.he also has crazy articulation for such a beast. A HUGE transforming DX class figure has a ab crunch! AND can pose him to stand on one leg!?!?... 5. An infinite playability due to sheer amount of accessories that came with this guy....you can be at home with him for MONTHS and not get bored.. (PERFECT for staying home order! Haha) Alas, I am sorry but i can post the third part(??) of my review on..Monday. Please "bear" with me for "the final word"part.

Guys, here's my final thoughts. 1.Im at "a cross road" on this piece... With damaged armor on, this robot will blow you away. Terribly beautiful..makes my other figures look like chesp kids toy. This is a piece that can stop collecting for a while, a swan song piece. It's THAT gorgeous. NOTHING compares as far as sheer superficial beauty goes. 2.With "normal" skin on, its a bit off proportioned large "Metal Build like" DX class figure with couple of serious issues. 3.Yet on the other hand, the cons can be completely overlooked if you enjoy light tinkering or modding your figure...couple of drilling and some "epoxying" is all that requires. It has crap ton of accessories to outlast this damn pandemic. It can be your one and only figure to last till you come out of the other end. Should you get one? Did you already buy one? Should you wait till those cons are ironed out on the next iteration? It's all on you. I myself is confounded with you as generous BBTS given me the choice of either getting a full refund or exchange for another one. Days later, I still can't make up my mind. strange and magical, unlike anyother i ever laid my eyes on...so~ beautiful ah...

I wish people would make battery inserting videos! Oof yeah, but i can honestly say it was LOT easier to insert batteries on Gaiking then God Mazinger..God Mazinger was a nightmare. It helps if you have those tiny kids fingers and also a pair of tweezer haha. Seriously tho, i only put 2 batteries in chest and 2 in head. Dont try to put all three in the chest. I think that helped ALOT in my case.
