It's gorgeous. Want one. But, can't justify the price...Okini had one up yesterday @ $3800CAD + shipping. That's a nice trip somewhere...or a pretty decent automatic watch.

Heard there are stocks in Hong Kong in a number of shops you can just walk in and purchase, but all have markups going for HKD$20000 and up (about US$2600), when retail is closer to US$1500. Another interesting tidbits I heard from a HK toy podcast about shops that can get some stocks of Sazabi, need to get a bunch of Figurarts Zero One Piece Big Mom statues as mandatory stock with Sazabi from their distributors. So if you are into One Piece and want one, you may see price dropping significantly on Big Mom from HK retailers. After watching a couple reviews, Sazabi sure looks gorgeous. But I can't help but noticed that the scale is a bit off. Sazabi shrunk a little in size/height, as it is supposed to be taller than Nu. While the shield on Nu is made too short (most model kits and illustrations have the top of the shield reaching the height of the top of Nu's head), with the Fin Funnels also a bit small and sitting too high (especially noticeable on mine with double Fin Funnel setup). A bit odd for both super high end product having these size issues on the figure or accessories.

According to the Gundam Wiki:
Sazabi: Head Height: 23.0 meters Overall Height: 25.6 meters
Nu Gundam Head Height: 22.0 meters Overall Height: 23.0 meters
So they are pretty close really. In the picture below, they aren't quite lined up, the Nu is in front of the Sazabi so I think it's skewing it a tad? I will get mine sometime end of Jan, I can do a side by side then.
As for the Nu's shield I think that has to do with the re-designs they did putting PsychoFrame into things and having the shield have an expanded mode to it.

Nu's shield expand mode doesn't add much height, just wider. It still sits very low expanded. While Sazabi is 1 meter taller than Nu at head height, but appears the same as Nu instead. Look at MG's shield height and Fin Funnel placement in comparison.

I stand corrected on Sazabi's height. Looks accurate in this better photo comparison.

I was avoiding this thread because of how gorgeous this guys are... man, this two turn any collection into a museum. But as many had said I can't justify its price... probably I would spend more money getting these two than completing my MB and SOC collection... I'm happy (and a bit envious) for any of you bros who have managed to get them.

Any help ordering this? I've been trying to score a pre-order through numerous places, both foreign and domestic, but no luck. They all sell out within minutes, sometimes seconds. Prefer to pay the more reasonable $1500 - $2000. Haven't got desperate yet to pay the crazy $2600. Thanks.

Checked Yahoo Japan auctions, Mercari, HK shops, $2500+ is the norm. With the current market situation, no one in the right mind would sell you one at $1500-2000 when they can easily sell it for a lot more, while it is way too late to get one from any normal retail channels at retail or low markup prices.

Yeah, I tried. Gave it a real try and the closest was Image Anime which I posted about earlier in this thread...As much as I love the Wasabi, it is just now hopes and dreams that they'll release a GFFMC or Metal Build of one. I mean, if the Kampfer is inbound, there has to be hope that we'll get a smaller scale version of the Wasabi so we don't have to break the bank and incur the wrath of our spouses.

Yup, I was being very hopeful that one of you had a store that was still selling it for retail. I was contemplating selling the Nu Gundam, but change my mind everytime. It's my favorite Gundam (actually the Hi Nu is my favorite but it's almost the same thing) so it's hard to part with it. Thanks for the insight though.

Don't sell it, unless you really have no love for it. It is not something that can easily come by a second time, and most likely one of, if not the most impressive piece in your Gundam collection. Keep it, I would say, consider how rare and impressive looking (and heavy) it is. That thing is so heavy, lifting it (with the funnels and the display stand together) can almost bruise my hand if I am grabbing the stand where the shapes are blocky with some weight resting on my fingers LOL.

^ This.
I'd keep it. The fact you were lucky to get the NU is a blessing.

"Kamille Blow" has a lot of 'inside' info, since one of the host is a shop owner. (Other RJ folks might be thinking, what kind of freaking podcast name is "Kamile Blow"? )

If you enjoy the Nu that much, I would never sell it. Also, Bandai has stated that they will be re-releasing the Nu in the future, so if you're willing to wait a couple of years, you'll probably have a chance to get the Sazabi on reissue. I know that seems like a long time, but really it isn't.
