This is such an awesome looking figure in combined mode.
But transformation definitely does not look enjoyable or fun, and looks a bit wobbly. Someone on Facebook said that Bandai recently announced SRX. Is this true? And if so, would it be SOC? Or Minipla?

Only heard of the SRX Super Mini Pla from Bandai. If it is a SOC, it would be such a punch in our gut... Though if Bandai is serious about exploring SRW OG in the future (the recent OG SOC survey), SRX will be a very favorable candidate some years down the line.

Right now they're only making a SMP version. But with how much interest they seem to have in SRW a SOC might happen eventually.

I actually voted for Banperios & the other Alpha 3 OG units since I really enjoyed those quite a bit along with Fortgigas Hopping it actually goes somewhere & not just a pointless one.
Don't really need a repeat of the SRC only prototypes just to be cancelled for the OG units

Super Minipla as of now no SOC which is a shame since it would've been intresting to see SRX in that line along with few other OG Mechs

So watching that video, it sure is a bit of a parts forming nightmare but honestly I think they made the right choice because once combined it seems pretty solid. I think there isn't really a way to engineer this to combine with just the units and have any sort of stability especially the R-3/waist part. Maybe if the figure was bigger you could build into it enough die-cast to make it stable but I suspect you are going to be making a like 2000 dolllar toy at that point?
Maybe that is what will happen if Bandai decides to try to make one, each unit is 500-600 bucks?

Can any group members who purchased this SRX please provide your opinions and/or a review on the overall complete set?
I really want to know what I may have missed out on. 😭 Thanks in advance.

Something I read from another forum but it's been mentioned here, the legs do come off easily. Yikes! Wotafa posted his video review about R-3 today. I have to say that the SRX legs mode looks really good at the end of the video. But he doesn't form SRX in this video. I'm thinking his next review will be the combination of all 3 robots. It still bothers me how small the individual robots are. I also don't like puzzle piece style parts-forming with friction for the transformation. I still can't justify the high price point ($600-$625) for the size of this thing. Looking forward to when Wotafa uploads the 4th video where he combines everything. It might win me over when I finally get to see how SRX is.

I still can't justify the high price point ($600-$625) for the size of this thing. If you ordered from the right store at the right time it was possible to get this for ~$500 shipped, which to me seems like a fair price considering how detailed the figure is and the number of pieces used in making it.

SRX is actually quite huge (about DX Voltes V height), even though individual R1 R2 & R3 seems small, if you don't count the powered parts.

SRX is 310 mm or approximately a little over 12" tall. This video posted this morning does confirm there is a slight waist swivel contrary to what others have said there is not.

I guess I was mistaken. Sentinel promo said its 35cm tall. But I double checked its counting from the back fins. Head height is 31cm. It just got worse the more I found out... DX Voltes V is 36cm, just measured mine. Would have been pretty close if Sentinel didn't "bluff" with the huge 350mm height, while indicate 310mm head height in smaller print. Poor SRX just shrunk a size for me. 😓

Poor SRX just shrunk a size for me. 😓 35cm is over 13" inches tall. So they are probably accounting for the 12.20" inch tall SRX robot standing on the display stand. consider including if they're measuring from the top of the antenna from SRX's head. I still can't justify the high price point ($600-$625) for the size of this thing. If you ordered from the right store at the right time it was possible to get this for ~$500 shipped, which to me seems like a fair price considering how detailed the figure is and the number of pieces used in making it. SRX at Amiami was like $475 before shipping, so it would have been likely $600ish after shipping for me. Even worse if going with one of the American retailers like BBTS, TFsource, etc where its $799 before shipping. For a predominantly plastic robot toy that is a little over 12" tall, with small individual robots that are small and flimsy like a Gundam HG kit, the end price point for me is just not justifying.

Yeah. Doesn't look like a must-have release, the more I look at it. Only for folks that really want a SRX (which I do). It will take a while for mine to arrive (Surface mail). I'll have to see exactly how much lower than my expectation by then when I experience it first hand.

I feel bad for anyone who pre-ordered with American retailers, especially if they're not American. And regarding the individual robots, I think it's disingenuous to call them HG kits, SINCE they're closer to RG kits when it comes to detail and articulation, and are far from flimsy. They're also fully painted and include a lot of accessories, bases/flight stand, as well as parts for the combined mode. R3 has an entire tray for storing the caarrier/legs of SRX, which are massive. I won't argue that they aren't overpriced, but they're still very well made figures.

Feedback I heard on the individual bots are actually solid and sturdy. It is the combination I have issues with. They look and pose great as the SRX Team, from reviews and feedback I came across.
Seeing how they need to take apart R3 limb by limb and to fit it onto the SRX hip armature, they might as well just give us a swappable hip & thigh assembly with sculpted R3 parts already built-in, so at least we get a very solid hip and thighs, and probably improved articulations there as a result. Kind of pointless to peg in individual arms and legs and half of a torso on a not very sturdy extra frame with multiple tabs that can come loose moving it. And I really don't like the way they design the feet, with the toe joint being just friction and needed to be collapsed often in R3 transformations. It will get loose, and won't support the SRX weight, regardless ankles has ratchets. The toes also need ratchets because of that, and you can see the SRX can't even stand too well on its own in the videos because of those weak friction toe and heel joints. Such a huge oversight. They can make the narrow hip joint armature to ratchet, yet not the gigantic feet's toe and heel. Sigh.

Can any group members who purchased this SRX please provide your opinions and/or a review on the overall complete set? I really want to know what I may have missed out on. 😭 Thanks in advance. Well if you want a quick impression I got him yesterday & the 3 units are fine what they are aside from the parts forming which you have to be gentle with for the R3 since it needs to be attached to a small part to give the Illusion it expanded a bit & this Mech need some magic for the mass shifting to for SRX all I can say is if you like SRX or R-units there nice to own but if never cared about them it's any easy skip for most.
All though I'm hoping Bandai makes there own SOC SRX & eventually Banpreios (Based on the SOC OG Poll) , still there is also the R-Gun on the way as well to complete the SRX & it's buster Cannon mode.

Wotafa finally posted his combined SRX video. There is something so therapeutic about watching Wotafa's robot reviews for me.
