I've never been interested in any of their releases before but this guy look really cool. It will depend when it comes out and what other figures get announced...

King Arts seems to be pretty polarizing. People either love them or hate them. I don't own any, but I think they always look fantastic. Its only after release when I start to see reviews complaining about no die-cast, floppy joints and fiddly parts. I'll be watching this one as well.

this looks like a carbon copy of SOC with some added details, and that's a disappointment for me because I don't like the SOC sculpt I was going to say the same thing. This is too close to be comfortable as a SOC copycat, aside probably being bigger and added panel lines and small details. They can actually do that as a licensed product?!

Love Danguard Ace but not sure this will replace my mighty brick Yamato version. Yeah I know it’s dated but still just looks good.
I found social media site that King Arts will be 23 CM. That’s about inch shorter Yamato. Think it will come down to asking price for this. I’m happy with The King Arts Gaiking.

They can actually do that as a licensed product?! It's not too surprising if two companies try to follow the same animation model without much stylization. Have you seen some recent third party MP Transformers? You can barely tell which company made which figure anymore, since all trying to make their figures look exactly like the (ugly) cartoon.

Danguard needs to be BIG, man, BIG! As for their quality I can attest that they are excellent. I own their Mazinger, Grendizer, Gaiking, and Jeeg. Their attention to detail never disappoints. However, because all these figures feature removable armor parts, the diecast is usually limited to the internal frame parts and joints, which makes it lighter than expected the first time you pick it up. It looks like Danguard has less of that parts removing gimmick so maybe they will have more diecast this time. But it still needs to be taller. UPDATE: 33.5 CM. Yes baby!

I don't think that applies in this case though. If my previous joke is not obvious enough, here is a side by side comparison. King Arts down right copied the SOC to the T, even down to the shapes on the armpit grooves and cavity LOL. I respect King Arts' work, but it is just not cool to slightly modified someone's sculpt and call it yours on this one.

I think the added detail from the sculpt makes it better. Now just need to compare the diecast content here. A heavier version over the SOc is always welcome...

Bandai still has a better sculpt (particularly in the face) but the upsize of the King Arts is a welcome opportunity.

you guys made it sound like its a sin to copy Bandai lol, well we all know Bandai is all about anime accuracy in most of their stuff so it will save them time to do one from the scratch not to mention its not an exact copy since they updated the sculpt a bit and added some details, also the removable armor is really a neat touch, i wasn't interested in this robot but now and after seeing this i kinda like it
will keep my eyes open for it
I don't collect King Arts, but this one looks good. you should reconsider bro their latest products are really good

from what i learned the people who hate them never owned any of their products, the hate comes from the feeling they have that KA stole the DX idea from Bandai and they hurt the value of the DX Mazinger (not kidding)
people who love them own couple of stuff from them and they will tell you they make nice figures and they improve with each release, exactly from God Mazinger, Gaiking and Jeeg were all legit releases hands down, the issue of floppy joints and fiddly parts is there true but they were on Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, and a little on Grendizer, according to friends who own the later releases these problems are no more

If someone copied your toy reviews and all the photos, slightly rearranged the paragraphs, changed a few words, and photoshopped out any logos or watermark you may have, then posted on their website as their own reviews. How would you feel? Just saying. Anyhow, we can agree to disagree. You get my point. Maybe its the artist in me that got particularly annoyed by this. KA stuff are cool and I respect what they have been bringing to the collecting scene. The Danguard copying is a bit of a surprise. Moving on.
