Well you are GetterBoi so that makes sense... I'm sticking to my riobot, it is still really cool, and I think it's the one that looks better (IMO). But if they go with Getter Tarak I may fall for it, just for the sake of adding a new getter and a new design... Tarak will happen just from the looks of it P-Bandai is per-Tradition with Bandai & it's toys (I would've said stick with CCS-Toys but that thing is so awkward in design & less appealing in person). So far the only Diecast Getter toy that's worth own from Modern releases is Riobot Shin Getter & What came before it (EX-Gokin Shin 1). |

But if they go with Getter Tarak I may fall for it, just for the sake of adding a new getter and a new design... You are not alone. Me too like the Riobot Shin Getter 1 the best in terms of looks. Unfortunately, it was an earlier Riobot release, so the joints are not as sturdy as CCSToys or Metal Build. I also like the surface and panel detail designs the best, but with the drawback on the reds not fully painted. (The red looks jarringly inferior than the Riobot Raideen's red standing next to it, which is fully painted and very shiny and clean.) Now that we have a better look on MB Shin Getter 1, I do see some merits in the design. If you just look at the shapes and silhouettes, its a very cool Shin 1 (even better than Riobot's shape in some areas, like the lower legs). The bulkiness of the build, wide chest, beefy arms and legs with those interesting multi-joints. Even the wings create some really cool shapes, very sharp, and aggressive. However, once you turn on the lights and see all the sculpted-in details and aesthetic design choices they made (those excessive honeycombs and those generic vent lines on the green clear parts especially), they rub me the wrong way. A lot of cool ideas implementing Getter 2 & 3, transforming weapon, as well as Getter ships onto the wings design, but the execution of those ideas I mostly don't like. A mix bag of nice body and form, but bad distracting bits all over IMHO. Still very nice to have a closer look, and I can see some others being excited about this release, especially when they don't collect a lot of Shin Getters, or they just like the Metal Build line in general. Probably stay as a pass for me, with Riobot red Shin 1 and CCSToys black Shin 1 (on its way here) helming my collection (Aoshima Shin 1 is all the way in the back of the cabinet you can barely see...haha). The silhouette and body shapes are really nice, I cannot deny.  But I don't know about sticking a plane (Getter Eagle) on the wings and call it a day.  This pic showcase a lot of the distracting honeycombs and vent lines I was talking about.  Cool signature pose, but the axe suffered to the transforming gimmick with a not very cool design (you find another Getter Eagle on it LOL, and Getter 2's drill)  Impressive set, but a lot of questionable choices.  |

mpchi Well this Desgin is suppose to be a Mesh mash of Manga & Armageddon Shin Getter based on the parts Granted I like bulky looking Shin getter a bit more I'm just hoping it wont suffer a ton of QC Problems like the Hi-Nu MB.

I will probably buy one so I can compare it with the CCS. I don't mind having extra Getters. Please do so…I’m getter fan but I need to be convinced of why should I get a “copy cat” of an already amazing model like CCS |

mpchi Well this Desgin is suppose to be a Mesh mash of Manga & Armageddon Shin Getter based on the parts Granted I like bulky looking Shin getter a bit more I'm just hoping it wont suffer a ton of QC Problems like the Hi-Nu MB. Oh, I don't have problem with the bulky body shapes. I was praising it actually. Its more the smaller distracting/busy panel details that bothers me. Use Riobot as comparison, you see a lot of panel lines (but not as much as CCSToys'), but they are not distracting and flows well with the shapes and overall design. The green clear parts also have unique sculpted patterns inside (some circles, some lines, some areas very dense, others less so...it has contrast and varied complexity), not the the generic repeating vent lines on the MB clear parts. And by the look of the MB team incorporating so much Shin Getter 2 and 3 elements into the Shin 1 design, guess MB Shin Getter 2 & 3 is not gonna happen.  Yeah I get you But it's pretty clear they aim to Make Shin 1 & Shin Tarak all though I'm hoping that maybe Shin 2 & 3 will be eventually made as P-Bandai (Probably won't). |

A long time ago when I got my first Metal Builds, I went on Tamashii's twitter and said "It'd be cool if you made a Metal Build Mazinger Z." A the time, the response was "we have Soul of Chogokin for those kinds of robots." So the announcement of the MB Maz was really exciting for me, and probably why I'm a MB diehard at this point. If the Dragon Scale series really gets some traction going and the Shin Getter and Tarak do well, I think we could possibly see Shin Getters 2 & 3. |

Yeah that would be great to get a Diecast set of Shin 1,2&3 tbh here's hoping we a Getter G (updated) set as well down the line.

mpchi I think the MB suffers from the necessity of doing something different. They added many details and features to make it more unique and look as far as posible from the riobot and the ccs (two great figures). Some of the adds are cool, but others as you indicated ended up being a big turn off. With all those odd choices it ended as a weird release to me, on one hand I find it cool, engineering seems really good, and on the other hand aesthetics create a mixed feeling. I cant say it will be a bad figure, problably many people will be ready to buy it, since it has some appealing, but to me it unnecessary and that, with all the cool releases we are getting, its a big pass.

That "Much Detail" is cause this there Infinitsim Shin Getter to compliment the Infinity Movie Mazinger Z & Great & why it's this much stylized & a Mesh Mash on top of that.

wow good catch guys i honestly didnt noticed those easter eggs, i just didnt pay much attention due to the busy design overall, but really good catch, i like it now lol, to be honest the Getter 1 eagle ship is a real neat touch also i guess those honeycombs resample Getter 1 face ?
after giving it a good look i can tell you they took something from every Shin Getter 1 in the market and reused it in here
the only thing that i dont like is the face sculpt the eyes are very wide and the details are lost

But felt that the gimmick compromised the design with a not very good looking axe (compare to other releases). But that's just me. Video on the display sample. |

I actually posted about the Weapon Change Gimmick , granted how it fair in the real world is another story. But still a neat Idea to have a 2 in 1 weapon

I randomly woke up at 1:45 am est, and then remembered this preorder should open at 4pm Japan time. Refreshed hlj as soon as 2 am hit, and there it was! Snagged the figuarts ultraman mebius, too. Couldn't find the new figuarts kamen rider faiz anywhere, though.

MB Shin Getter 1 was pretty easy to find/buy, available for a couple hours in multiple shops. Surprised to see it still available after I missed the preorder window by an hour or so (family duties). Hope you guys managed to snag one. Still need to find me a Faiz... |
