I underestimated the power of SOC Voltes V. This is insane! Anyone still looking for this 50th Voltes V, you might want to try your luck at CD Japan. But mind the hefty price! Probably Bandai will re-release a few more. lol!

Probably the life action show helped boosting sales quite a bit, putting every non-collector on the radar of a new release that one can get without markups.

Probably the life action show helped boosting sales quite a bit, putting every non-collector on the radar of a new release that one can get without markups. Have you seen the aftermarket prices of DX Voltes V? It has been 18 years(!) since GX-31 has been released: Number | Date Released | Price | Re-issue | GX-31 | 05.2006 | 15,800 Yen | I think there was a re-issue of this | GX-31V | 12.2008 | 17,800 Yen | No re-issue | GX-31V 40th | 01.2015 | 23,000 Yen | I'm sure there was re-issue of this | GX-31SP | 08.2024 | 30,000 Yen | TBD |
All prices taken from HLJ, don't know if it includes sales tax. :/ I think the live action show would drive the (aftermarket) prices up for all variations of GX-31 (new or used) and DX Voltes. As long as Bandai keep the GX-31 mould, it's a licence to print money. Just need a re-issue of GX-43 Daimos and GX-50 Combattler.

Imagine a DX Chogokin of Daimos. That would complete the trio

Too bad Daimos is not a HOT commodity like Voltes V. I remember GX 43 went out on sale for $100USD at HK Shops back 2008-09. It could probably be famous again if plans push thru with the live adaptation they are cooking at the moment. Teaser pictures were probably in the approval stage to get the production going?

Even if you wanted the DX, with how the price in that skyrocketed I think most will just settle for this.
true this is the 2nd best Voltes (combining)

Have you seen the aftermarket prices of DX Voltes V? Just need a re-issue of GX-43 Daimos and GX-50 Combattler. regarding DX Voltes cheapest used is around $1300, brand new is $1365 at Ebay, i dont think its a huge change, since this was the price after the release, i remember seeing it between $900 - $1100
regarding the GX-50 i think they might release either a new version as an anniversary, or an R version
the annoying part is Daimos we need an R version or an anniversary version, it was among the top ten winners in the poll they did a while back
Imagine a DX Chogokin of Daimos. That would complete the trio
that would be nice but AFTER the DX Grendizer
knowing how Bandai's roll i know they will do an R DX version for Great Mazinger before we see the DX Grendizer lol

I see it happening for Grendizer. I also prefer it over Daimos. Waiting on that Switch game coming out soon too

It's a decent price now because the high exchange rate for the US dollar - if you want to get one new from eBay as per your price: $1365 US = 200,256 Y* The US dollar was 105 Japanese Yen back in December 2020. DX Voltes on release was 64,900 JPY (tax included) which is $629 US* The top price for NEW DX Voltes on Yahoo Japan Auctions is 160,000 Y which is $1090 US (doubt they will ship overseas)*. So you're looking at paying an extra 60% (the price when it was released) based on the current exchange of the US dollar from Yahoo Japan, more on eBay Not a bad return. Value of DX Voltes will only go up, unless Bandai do a re-issue for the 60th Chogokin anniversary. *All values do not include shipping. Get your wallets ready in 10 years time for Anniversary editions DX, SP versions of Mazinger, Voltes, whatever, etc. To get the conversation back to GX-SP Voltes, the colors/paint job seem like a mix of GX-31V and GX-31V 40th (My favorite is still GX-31V because of the retro look). Still happy I got a GX-31SP.

Dang, didn't know my DX Voltes doubled the value. I know what I can sell if I need a quick buck.

Dang, didn't know my DX Voltes doubled the value. I know what I can sell if I need a quick buck. To keep things from a same currency perspectve (Japanese Yen): DX Voltes V price on release date - 64,900 Y DX Voltes V on Japan Yahoo Auctions (brand new with outer box, top price) - 160,000 Y Difference: 95,100 Y Price change: + 146 % increase (on top of the release date price). Value change: 246% If you're looking to sell a DX Voltes, you know you can ask for a decent price.
