Woot, UPS found my box and it is out for delivery.
I must say that in the pictures of Zambot and Dancouga side-by-side, I find Dancouga to be far more impressive looking. But I am sure I will be pleasantly surprized when I get it in hand!

I mentioned this before, but him and Gouraisenpujin (as shown below) almost seem to be related, like brothers. How much did you pay for the Gouraisenpujin? can you do a review on that? danx

OK, I must say I am really pretty dissapointed with Zambot. It just isn't doing a lot for me right now. Hopefully it will grow on me, but right now I find Dancouga to be the best "big" SoC so far by a HUGE margin. Dancouga demands respect with it's huge stance and cool looks....Zambot looks plain wimpy to me.

Wimpy!?!?! even with all his chrome weapons? To everyone his own I guess... LOL, I once heard while doing time in Japan that you (should) "not underestimate the little JP cops who do not carry the big guns because they can better kick your ass". Maybe this somewhat applies here... Z3 maybe smaller and may not look as cool as the big guy but he aint no slouch.

But my girlfriend told me size matters! Zambot and Combattler are now my 2 least favorite SoC... Bill

How much did you pay for the Gouraisenpujin? can you do a review on that? danx I paid $110 USD back in January for the gucci version from Toywave and here's a review from TBDX for the regular color version. The GS is getting harder to find so the prices might be slightly higher now though you can sometimes get lucky on eBay, ask ayakaholic who posts in the PowerRangers forum once in a while for the seller he got his from...

Boy O Boy It's gittin' hot in here!
how are we ever going to get to the bottom of this?
Some of us think that Dancoug looks like a clumsy, bulky mass of frumpy plastic.
Some of us think that Zambot is a stiff pansey butt puss bot with all the fun and design quality of a turd.
Such Passion!! I love it.. Let the debate continue!

FYI: GX-23A will come with a Gold plated chest and moon. By the way, do any of you guys know whether there are any differences between the 1st shipment wave of Zambot versus the upcoming 2nd shipment? Thanks, Carlo

For the case of GX-03, they cant get the EXACTLY THE SAME original color by mix up the dyes after few years. However it doesnt apply here.

I see Dancouga as superior in all ways. Here's a list: -Size Does Matter -Toughness Looking vs Wussy -Beast Mode, Small Robots, Big Robot vs Small Robot, and some Dumb looking Vehicles. -Color Scheme Dark Metallic colors versus Pokemon Colors I *really* prefer Dancouga to Zambot...its not even close. I think you guys are biased just because you spend $200 on this and want to like it. Bill

Bill It's not being biased. ;D I think it's more of preference. I am more for classic SR's, so naturally, Zambot, and the likes would appeal more to me. Anywhoo, here's my review of the GX-23. Good and bad all thrown into the fray. ;D ;D ;D No comparing to the Dan though. Been there, done that, didn't like the results. greattoys.proboards18.com/index.cgi?board=review&action=display&thread=1087482145

Zambot has more style in 1 aticulated pinky than Dannyboy has in his entire boxy bloated butt.
the design nod to the Samurai asthetic is Classic and beutifuly executed with Zambot.
if you rotate Zambot there is not 1 angle where he looks wompy or slapdash. Gorgeous design and well thought out engineering.
Size does matter and i think he is about where he needs to next to dancouger (who is designed to be bigger in the animation). So size really does not apply here... its a about adhiring to scale and Zambot is close to scale. THey could have made him larger, but wisely Bandai chose not to.
I imagine if some one made a 20 foot tall SDF-1 you would think its better than a Grendizer..when all I would think is...the sdf-1 is just Bigger.
again, it all comes down to personal preferences. I love the 70's look and I tend to ber very selective in the 80s. (I love my Ishkick - MLover - Mospeda-and valks) But Bulk without style is about a classic as lint.
my name is YoMammabot and i approve this message.

Hey andrew. I agree. However, isn't Zambot still in its current production? In other words, he just came out so he is still being produced so there should not be any difference as it is all under the same "production run". RIght? Carlo No, no differences at all. For the case of GX-03, they cant get the EXACTLY THE SAME original color by mix up the dyes after few years. However it doesnt apply here.

yoMammabot, I'm sorry but you're off on Zanbot being smaller than Dancougar in the anime scale. Zanbot's 60 meters tall to scale and Dancougar is 22.4 meters. (to the top of the head) Click the picture at the bottom of this page for an idea of what the robots' actual scales are like. www002.upp.so-net.ne.jp/mf-man/toybox/toybox.htmZanbot is pretty much in scale with combattler, and it's pretty close with great mazinger too. The getters, mazingers and grendizer are all off-scale with eachother statistically, but they fit the sizes they appear to be in the crossover movies at least. Dancougar is just way over-sized, probably because it'd be very difficult to pull off anywhere near a size that would be in scale with the other socs. Try to imagine the eagle fighter if dancougar were like a cm taller than mazinger z.

Thats an awsome link! and im totally wrong about the scale. according to the link you sent Dancoug should be no larger than the all too small Gaiking anyhow. so hes pretty wimpy. (please make a bigger one someday bandai) haa ha~! let's keep debating!

Just got my first combiner and I would have to say the zanbot kicks arse!!! I actually prefer the 70's Super Robot design over Dancougar's transformers wannabe ass.
