Hmm... I just noticed but the wings look a little droopy in fighter mode with the booster attachment.... I hope not.

It also reminds me of a MiG 29.

All I gotta say is.... Seriously, I haven't seen any pics of this standing without support, so I'm really doubtful that it can stand, but I am happy that Yamato's going to provide a display stand/base for this... gives a "little" (ahem... very little) justification to the asking price.

Yeah, it does look quite fragile. I dunno if the stand gives any (even a if little) justification for the entire price taggery but it certainly makes a welcomed addition!

I'm guessing that reactive armor for the VF-0S is not too far away. Maybe a revision of the VF-0S (i.e., improved 2nd version) will be released also in the not too distant future. I wonder if "fast pack" versions of SV-51 are also in the works. Imagine trying to be a completist then.

I love the SV-51 designs, but all of those moving parts are still a major concern for me. The cracked, broken shoulders for the VF-0A, and Yamato not changing the shoulders to POM for the VF-0A w/ QD2200 set (based on a reply from HLJ.COM) is not exactly making a lot of Macross fans happy- inspite of the excellent toys they have coming. I've stopped being a Macross completist since Yamato's prices got ridiculuous. Right now all my concerns are whether or not a $180.00 toy will break on me or not.

I've stopped being a Macross completist since Yamato's prices got ridiculuous. Right now all my concerns are whether or not a $180.00 toy will break on me or not. Same here. It doesn't help that I missed out on the first Low Vis., which is now impossible to find at a price anywhere near SRP. And then there are the mythical "Credit Card" Black Valkyries. So in my case, there's just no point in trying to be a completist since I don't have the cash to get two of the pieces in the line. Nowadays, I am forced to wait for the rare sales of local import shops to get my Yamato Macross toys. Just can't afford them at SRP anymore.

I hear you. At around $200 for the latest valks in the US when you figure in shipping, it gets a bit too expensive. I have to be very selective and look for prices lower than SRP.

Slightly out of topic, but this is just cool!
It's a remote controlled SV-51 that actually flies! So much for some of the debate that some of Kawamori's aircraft designs (including the SV-51's), are not air-worthy!
Enjoy!

Btw, is the SV51 transformation different from the YF-19 or does it follow the same pattern?

I couldn't find any references to it's transformation, but it looks like a cross between the 19 and the 11. Just my observation.
The fuselage recedes to the rear and the chest plate goes over it like the 19, but the fuselage appears like it splits where the rear fuse section turns to the hips, and the nose points down becoming the "crotch" like the 11. Although in the 51's case, the front section of the nose splits as well making the crotch blunted instead of pointed.
... now I'm lost.... ;D
Something like that he he he he

Pretty nice R/C plane. I'd hate to crash that one though.
