So now Aoshima is making Mospeada toys!?! Hmmm, I guess it makes sense since they did re-issue the old Imai model kits so it would be easy to make toys from those molds.

Hmmm... since it's Aoshima, I wonder how much the diecast content would be?

Hmmm... since it's Aoshima, I wonder how much the diecast content would be? The fear is that Aoshima is importing and distributing Toynami MPCs...The only pics available (above link) show some suspiciously MPC-esque Legiosses.

I'm interested in getting at least one Alpha fighter that's NOT coming from Toynami, so any toy company that's going to produce variable Mospeada mechs are welcome.

I bought all the Alpha MPCs when they came out, happy that anyone was making Mospeada toys. But no matter how hard I tried to rationalize it, to convince myself to like them, I just simply didn't. All those gaps...the fighter mode bent like a pretzel. I sold them all and haven't looked back. I have very high hopes for the CM's Legioss and Tread sets. Who would have thought that over 20 years after the last Gakken Mospeada toy rolled off the line, we'd have red, blue AND green Treads? Question: Are the Treads designated as Eta, Zeta and Iota variants as the Legiosses are?

Interesting news about these new Mospeada toys. I can't wait to hear more about what Aoshima's doing with them. If they're really going to be 1/48 scale, and diecast, AND in the $100 range, that's gonna be something else! Would really be nice if Yamato came down on their 1/48 Valks as a result of this... One can dream, right?

I totally dig the CM version more, I just love the more stylized look which IMHO opinion matches the Anime better plus all those accessories is a nice touch. The combined mode is a little wonky but I'm sure that's just prototype teething. I do think the Tread should be a little larger like the Toynami prototype, but atleast there making one.
Plus those Ride Armors/Cyclones look good and I think it was stated that those are from a company named Beagle and not Toynami.

I just noticed that both the Toynami/Aoshima and CM versions both state that there both 1/48 scale but it lists the Toynami one at 20cm while the CM one is 16cm. I think I'm gonna wait and see the final production CM version along with some idea of it's price because if Toynami/Aoshima do come out with a Beta/Tread then I might go for the larger version.

I want the Cyclone. Is the original one hard to find?

I could be wrong but I think those Cyclones are from Megahouse? If it is I guess they won't have any diecast in them. Since the company has yet to release a diecast toy. Gold

I want the Cyclone. Is the original one hard to find? it's actually easy to find one MIB, it's just expensive in all its variations. it's one of those pieces that retailers really like to mark up artificially.

I'll wait to see the painted versions of the CM's version before I make any final judgements. As of now though, I like the larger vents on the chests of the Toynami/Aoshima ones better. Of course, that's just in looks. I haven't handled any of them personally. ...and yes, those Cyclones look friggin awesome.
