in the future do you think wll be released a Baan Gaan also in the normal brave line? As they do for the Genesic GGG?

I answered this before but its very unlikely. At the size it is currently, its already near the Brave Gokin size. Any smaller and Baan and Sperion wont even transform (they are minicon sized). It also already cheats to transform. It is highly unlikely that they will. Also heard that they've publically announced that they have no plans to release this in the Brave Gokin line.

Just talked to CMS on the other day.
They said that DX GBG was initially planned to be released as Brave series.
But the whole project was over budget and multiple sheets of design pics have to be drawn before the final design can be achieved. Besides, they have to modify many parts in order to avoid breaking of joints .e.g soft plastic for the dragon head and alloy for the wings and trunk. The " 36000yen x 2200 pieces" was the estimated price and no. that they have to sold before they can get some profit. Since the price was too high for Brave series, so they changed the series from BRAVE to DX and decided for on line ordering. For the above reason, there was nearly no chance for CMS to design a cheaper Brave version as DX GBG was already a Brave series toy.

Hey. I got Great Baan Gaan this morning at 8 in the morning. Excellent! Heres a few pics. No vehicle mode shots yet.

Comparison with CM's Mecha Action Series Great Baan Gaan's box


The layout of the box is very similar to the God Raijinoh's box layout.


Except the accessories tray was tucked away on the bottom. Took me 5 minutes to find it lol.


Comparsons between Baan, Sperion and Exkaiser. If you thought removing Exkaiser's hands were tough, try Baan's.

Lastly a comparison between the DX Great Baan Gaan and the Mecha Action Series Great Baan Gaan.


There are a few problems with this toy. One is that some parts feel really fragile. some pieces are too thin and looks like if over used they will snap (Great baan gaan's crest piece). Also this figure has a tendency to fall over. Maybe some of the diecast should go to their feet! Talking about diecast, there is some. Just not much. The black piece that attaches Baan Gaan's wings to the body is which I am thankful for since it looks like one of the easier to break parts if plastic. Also The back of Baan Gaan's skirt armour is diecast and a bit of Mach Sperion's legs. As I said, not much. The collar piece that attaches Mach Sperion's head to the body is already showing stress. Not good. Sperion's bird head piece also has a tendency to go flying if it touches the floor or is transformed. So does one of Baan's shirld (car door) pieces.As said in previous posts. It is not perfect transformation. Even combining into Great Baan Gaan requires many parts to sit to the side doing nothing. I havent tried Baan Gaan's dragon or carrier modes or Mach Sperion's Jet or Phoenix modes so I cant comment yet. Overall I'm quite happy with it despite some of its shortcomings.

Compared to CM's site pics, I gotta say it definitely looks way better. I'll pick it up if I can get one for $200.... nigh impossible task.

Its my new favourite toy heh. I'd like to get the Variable Formation SRX as well but that is just TOO expensive.

To go from dragon to truck and bird to jet, is it a perfect transformation or is it parts-former fest?

Parts formers. Mach Jet and Mach Phoenix both use a different 'base' and the parts go around those bases. Gaan dragon has lots of parts that come from nowhere like the dragon's legs, neck, tail and claws.

Oh... then it's a definite pass. I was expecting something more integrated than that. I can accept add-on fists, but more than that...

The end result doesnt even look that great for the dragon.
I know how you feel Orbitron. I had to wait an extra 5 days for my God Raijinoh before since it arrive Friday and was charged customs and I payed Monday and they delivered Tuesday.

Okay, in your opinion Roanstalker, is this figure better than the God Raijin-Oh or vice versa? I need to make a decision as to which one to buy?

Greaty Baan Gaan is better though more expensive. Depends on your opinion of diecast. Is it absolutly necessary? Great Baan Gaan isnt as heavy because the diecast is mostly in the joints and things. It also locks in place better since nothing locks Raijinoh's upper legs together so when you pick it up it slides down to reveal Kenoh's upper leg part. Ask Megatroptimus for his opinion on God Raijinoh. I'm sure some other people here alsohave God Raijinoh.

I don't have GBG, so I can't compare the 2. But save for that problem you pointed out when lifting God Raijin Oh, I think it's a better and more "playable" set. No unused parts lying around and it's a perfect transformation, no cheating save for the fists. Chrome and clear bits look awesome too. The dragon dude is a bit weird in dragon mode, but it's not that bad.
