So much detail for such a small thing! Wow, removable core fighter? BAndai is replacing the MIA / MSIA line!

yes niko, i think i will dig this line. 1/144 scale, made with ABS (not the rubbery PVC of MSIA and FIX), with cool paintjob and intense detail. specially the camera eyes made with clear plastic like the ones on PG models. awesome!!!

I think Bandai is considering the Revoltech threat very seriously. Maybe this line is created to counter just that. Hopefully we won't just be seeing the RX-78-2. Have you seen the Extended MSIA Sazabi and New Gundam?

i don't understand Bandai sometimes . why issue 1/144 hcm-pro now, when they can issue them in this scale when they first release them. naturally collectors wud want them in this bigger scale, so what to do with the initial 1/200 scale hcm-pro figures? with this trend, do we also expect 1/100 scale hcm-pros along the road?

Japanese houses tend to have very little space- the 1/200 scale may actually be preferable to many. Anyway, 1/144 is much larger than 1/200, and considering the prices the hcmpros have reached even in 1/200, if the 1/144 hcm pro becomes a full-fledged line things may get quite expensive. The price may be hard to justify if they end up costing as much as, say, the max factory votoms figures.

wow. does the extended sazabi really look that good? What scale are the extended models? Or are they not "to scale" because they are "action figures" not models?

How much & when will it be released? It looks like a very much improved version of the SCM 1/144 RX-78. I look forward to it.

My only gripe about the Pros is the size. These are suppose to be high complete progressives...But the original high completes are bigger. What up wid dat?

new line, new scale. Bandai's Gundam marketting trademark LOL
but im not complaining with the new hcm-pro scale, even if it will cannibalize sales from 1/144 kits and MSIA/EMSIA, this line looks good. very detailed and painted, and made with ABS (not the rubbery PVC). it will be an awesome figure for its scale.
i cant wait!

HCM-PRO Gundam (2004 release to current) - 1/200 scale. made with ABS plastic, very nice but too small (for my taste at least, but very nice nonetheless). MSIA/EMSIA - 1/155 scale estimated. made with rubbery PVC. upcoming RX-78-2 HCM-PRO - 1/144 scale. IMO the best scale for HCM-PRO line

I agree... but if you're going to start something new, it might as well be the Gundam, right? Its the MS with the best chance of the least amount of groaning, despite it's already massive armada of Gunpla devoted to it.
However, not all Gunpla lines have started with the Gundam. The hugely successful HGUC lineup started with the Guncannon. The Gundam wasn't HGUC-ed until #21 of the series.
Still, I too agree... the RX-78-2 Gundam is the spoiled brat of all Mobile Suits.
