After handling Threezero golion for a few days I've come to the conclusion that what they've accomplish here is a focus that both the SOC and 3Pro had some challenges with in regards to articulation. I love my SOC and 3Pro Golions but neither in hand feels like something (toylike) that I would want to mess around trying out different poses. Been collecting for over 2 decades now and I have come to appreciate figures that can handle some play these days. My SOCs on shelves are played with on occasion, but rarely do I play with them more than two to three times a year being a collectible that I want to proudly display.
My only gripe with Threezero's release is more on refinement I would say, like the leg covers tend to come lose or off as you articulate the figure, ironically there seems to be less waist swivel than SOC (by a smidge), tension joints instead of ratchets so time will decide how the shoulder/arm/hip/knew/ankle joints will hold up and black lion's tail coming off that looks broken in the connector nub when in fact that's really how it looks out of the factory as seen in multiple youtube vides now. For those looking to add this golion to your collection, you can try to wait for a sale as some have said but know that in hand it feels like something you can play with out of the box.

Just got mine today, and wow I'm actually impressed with this sentinel's riobot release as most of their previous releases were not as heavy. I have the konami release from back in the days and while it is not as heavy as that release this one feels really good in hand given the level of articulation and actual combiner gimmick that the Konami nor CCSToys can achieve. The inclusion of simon and kamina mini figs is a nice touch. Bandai has their work cut out for them if they want to beat this release I feel as I don't think their previous SOC releases can achieve the same level of articulation as this one.

Interesting choice to go with here. Curious to see what they do here but not sure if I'll be getting a new boss borot to replace my current soc one.

I feel your pain mazfan and in a similar situation myself coming from a similar background of reclaiming all the toys I'd never got as a kid. I'm having a similar problem of deciding should I just scale it all down towards building a very limited display of bots I've grown up with vs just having a literal hoard of really awesome toys. Just know you're not alone and that there are many of us fellow collectors out there that are pondering similar thought processes as we all get older

It seems like FansToys quietly has returned to the scene and over the last couple of weeks, reissued the Insecticons and now, their iterations of Huffer and Skullcruncher. Interestingly, the latter 2 are plastastic...It would be unfortunate if they are stepping away from including metal in their toys going forward. Wow, that's news to me. One of the primary reasons why I support them is their usage of die-cast in their products. I hope that remains true with their new product releases as it would be a real step back if they didn't.

Patiently waiting for Pose+ Baikanfu to show-up, but from the reviews I've seen thus far this one easily kicks Sentinel to the side and really makes the original release from Bandai look a bit underwhelming, though I wonder how the diecast content will feel on hand. Still super awesome thing to see that a design team from a HK company is giving Bandai a run for their lunch money
