Yeah, definitely getting a movie vibe off of the designs, but need a closer look at the face. The packaging is similar (but not the same) so they probably are trying to get the two lines to blend. I like that the smaller partner doesn't just hang off the figure, but actually becomes a part of it, yet looks like the larger Transformer can function just fine without it. I do hope the smaller bot integrates with the larger in bot mode as well, not just in alt mode.
Never been a big fan of translucent plastic, though.

I think its the way the treated the arms, that keeps me from really liking it. I bet if they made regular arms, or did not try and mix the round and square parts, it might look better. Just give me some classic square arms, and this thing would be so much better.

I think the round arms are in tribute to G1 Huffer's smoke stack arms. Some people have pointed out that this is probably a scout/basic figure. On closer inspection he seems to have a very simple transformation. Legs come together and move up to the torso, arms go over the head and shoulders are pulled into the body forming the truck cab. just noticed that his right forearm is shaped different than the left.

I could live with the round arms if those panels were not on them though. I would like it all one way or the other. I guess they want it to look more realistic in vehicle mode. For me vehicle mode has always been second to bot mode.

pretty cool the gun/target master looks a little more posable then the classic target masters. Nice that they intergrate with each other nicely

I dunno, it looks closer to Classics, than Movie to me. I don't see any crazy trans-runes on the box art, anyway.

With these pictures I'm officially excited for this line. I have to admit that I did buy quite a few Mini-cons during Armada, Energon, and Classics, but what I really like about this line is the promise that the Mini-cons will have 4 different forms and none of them is a little car or plane. Bot mode, bot weapon, vehicle weapon, and armor, it's everything that I loved about Targetmasters. The larger bots look great, though they do still look to be only basic sized, or maybe something between basic and deluxe. Also like that they're carrying over the concept of Decepticons taking on what is normally "good guy" alt modes from the movie.
I just wish these "anonymous sources" would take a decent picture of the whole package for a change. Stop hacking the picture and giving us little bits and pieces that don't tell us anything really important. Feels kinda like a power trip as we're at the their mercy and they have control over what they feel like sharing now and what they feel like sharing later.

Aw, now... You can't have Decepticons being rescue squads trucks. That'll just confuse the children! And yeah, wipe off your camera phone lens.

Ah, but Decepticons are all about deception, and what better way to be deceptive than to have an unsuspected alt mode. Not only does it cause confusion, but also a sense of paranoia.

Barricade made the jump by looking like a protecto-bot in the movie. I don't mind having robots be anything as long as they look awesome.

I think Alternators had more to do with Hasbro producing these in small quantities with a small shelf presence. Plus I think Hasbro just got bored with them. I'm only missing five Alternators (didn't even bother trying to collect Binaltech), Swerve, Decepticharger, Camshaft (never saw these guys in stores), and SDCC Nemesis Prime and Hot Rod. Most of the ones I got I had to buy on sight because they were the only ones I saw. I don't think there was ever a time these weren't popular. Emerje

Yeah, I like what they're doing with a bunch of small lines throughout the year rather than one large line. The UK ToyFair apparently is showing off some Power Core Combiner two packs and five packs that form larger robots. Word is the five pack is the Combaticons. No pictures were allowed, but I'm sure we'll get some hidden cam shots eventually.

Looks like they do. From what I understand they're doing "Scramble City" with these and have it so the arms and legs can be swapped like the old G1 gestalts. Looks like the fingers can be flattened out to form feet. A rep said the limbs are legends scale, I'm guessing the body is deluxe. If that's the case then it's basically one deluxe figure with four Mini-cons which should make it around $20 which would be fine by me.
