Here's a scale reference pic of the Shield Liger next to SRC Alteisen This shows how the missile bays open on the sides and how the cannon has a snug fit under the door on the top. Here the missiles bays are closed and the cannon is put away. This shot is just a closeup of the head with the canopy open. I wanted a pic to show how extreme this thing can pose, and I don't think this pic shows as well as I would have liked. But the articulation is excellent and the joints are very sturdy.

So the Wonderfest pic would have been from last July, right? Yamato, please, you've got to release this.

So Xiombarg where's our review and pics? . Are you going to get the weapons add on pack for your liger? I don't have enough cash for the liger at the moment, but I think I'm going to have to pick this up eventually. So far I haven't read a bad review about it yet and any problems seem really really minor. ;D Weapons add on pack??? Seriously? I hadn't heard anything about this? If they're releasing the add on side guns I'm all over it. I'll see what I can do about some pics and a short review.

The thing that just blows my mind about this critter is how much freaking metal there really is on this thing! I know, I know.. here I am doing a double post, going off about things that I already sort of posted about. BUT THE THING IS LOADED WITH METAL. L O A D E D. Picking it up is like curling a dumbell.
Oh, and did I mention tight joints? That is correct sir!

I just picked this up and Chachipower is absolutely correct about how awesome this thing is. Lifting it out of the box seriously feels like you're holding a metal brick. The whole production speaks quality and craftsmanship. It's large, it's super heavy, and it has a lot of cool weapons, compartments and moving pieces. It's the best figure I've bought this year so far and I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being my favorite purchase this year. It's sitting here staring at me as I type this and I'm just stunned. Incredible. I knew I wasnt crazy! someone who backs up my claims! I love it! It's going into the showcase as soon as I can stop playing with it.

Our Wal-Marts in my area carry only the most traditional and usually boring Transformers. I hate our Wal-Marts toy selections generally.

This model is supposed to use the basic VF-25's frame, right? Looks like Bandai has made some improvement to it. The Gerwalk stance is much better than the old VF-25 stance, where people complained that the nose is not pointed down enough. The crotch joints seems to be placed lower than the old VF-25 models as well. Maybe a revised VF-25 is on the way ;D To me the wings on the VF-29 seem to have that inverted look like the VF-19, but not as far back? I don't know, that's the impression I get when I look at it anyway.

Man, that is one pretty valk. I'm not a big fan of the YF-19, but this YF-29 seems to have the features I do like about the YF-19 without the things I didn't like.

I'm really thinking about giving them away as presents to nephews. In my mind I know it was a lot of money, but at the same time I'm not sure they have much to offer if they're just going to sit in box in my closet. For the moment I just haven't found a reason to hang on the them. One thing to consider though is that some of the figures probably won't make it to the SRC line, and those figures might actually become fairly prized items by collectors, especially if SRW keeps rolling forward in popularity. Can I call you Uncle Xiombarg ;D Only if you are a midget and will play nice with the other kids.

Honestly, AFA doesn't work for me. I want toys I can see and handle. It's one thing to have an AFA GI JOE figure where the figure itself doesn't offer much to really discover, and where you can find a loose version to accompany it fairly easily, but for the gokin gattai figures I collect, having them AFA graded completely defeats the whole concept of what a toy is for.

Man, isn't that the truth!
Not having enough room is part of the reason I give figures away. I'm still resolved to keep my figure collection small enough to fit into one good sized bedroom (my wife is resolved to this as well).

Yes she is, indeed! I'm looking forward to adding her to my collection . ... I just have to say that the sheer mass of what you have posted here is quite amazing. Assuming this is only a portion of your collection, you must have rooms full of stuff?

I agree with Tony, Bandai's Super Robot Chogokin line is the future of robot figures. You get the maximum bang for your buck. Sometimes a little low on gimmicks, but quality, detail and metal for around $50. It's refreshing after all the years we had of figures getting into the $300 retail price range.

I'm so predictable. Warhammer 40k Dawn of War II. Been playing the first game but recently upgraded so I can play the Tyranid faction. Seeing the Carnifex come into play makes awesomeness shivers shoot up my spine.
I just love that name too, "Carnifex". You know it's going to kick some serious butt.
