this is crazy, but totally cool. i bet things are not as mint as she thinks. you have to wonder the collectability of these things, when hasbro and takara keep releasing re-issues.

I'm still not used to how the Transformers look in this film. Especially how they transform. It was supposed to be quick, but all the moving parts, just look strange. Also, the writers changed how the Transformers are given only one shell body. In this film, they can change to whatever design they desire.
Another gripe... Starscream has like one line. Good grief Charlie Brown. I guess that interview with the writers on Yahoo is a fat lie.
Is it me or does Optimus not sound the same? Also, I wasn't thrilled about how the Autobots faces looked. i.e. battle mode and regular. Too weird.
Megan Fox was way too good looking for Spike. What happend to that blond haired girl from G1?

Yup, they won't honor it. They said "They carefully package everything they ship but they don't protect the products properly". Still, they haven't change.... If you are no longer planning to purchase from them anymore. You should file a complain with paypal. good idea. but i think i will wait until my next order which will involve a zambot 3, arcadia, and now... an ideon. why not? maybe i'll add a gundam as well. =========================================revised - 6/22/07Phew! Just received another package from HLJ today. Soo glad it was not a soccer ball for Beckham unlike the one listed in this thread. Now if they could only all come in this condition...

usually from Hlj packages are very well done... i think small packages can not be set under great, big, heavy packages... this is the fact, mail service is not always the best..... i think is not hlj pain but if you contact them i think they could do something Not really. This is their response: Hello Thanks for writing. We're sorry to hear that your order was damaged in shipping. We ship thousands of orders, all packed the same way, and for the most part they arrive in good shape, but aside from wrapping your items many centimeters deep in packing materials (which would increase shipping costs significantly), nothing we can do will protect a package that receives the kind of handling your box received. Unfortunately, we have no control over how the post office treats a box. EMS orders are packed no differently, but since the post office knows that it is liable for damage on those orders, they tend to handle them more gently. Were the actual products damaged in any way? Please see our policies page (http://www.hlj.com/overview/hlj_policies.html) and our FAQ on damage (http://www.hlj.com/faq/q17.html) for an explanation of our policies on box damage and charge backs. Please be aware that we will contest any charge back vigorously. Thanks for shopping with HobbyLink Japan! ---------------------------------------------------------------- My order arrived, but it was damaged in shipping. Please do a careful inspection of your merchandise. If the "damage" is limited to the outer box of the product, such as a crushed corner or bent lid, we ask you to grin and bear it if at all possible (this doesn't happen very often). If actual kit parts have been broken (not just fallen off the runner), or a completed item has been damaged, e-mail us at trouble@hlj.com and we will arrange supply you with replacement parts or a new item (at our discretion) at no charge. In some cases we may request that you return the damaged item to us, but in these cases we will credit you for the postage you pay to do so. In addition, if you ordered a large item that was shipped by "parcel" class (i.e. there was a light green shipping label stuck to the box that has "Postal Parcel" printed at the top), then you are entitled to compensation from the post office of at least 8,620 yen, but no more than 21,710 yen depending on the weight of the parcel. You do not need to have insured your package to receive this compensation. Exact procedures vary by country, but you should start by taking your order and the shipping box down to your local post office, showing them the damage, and inquiring about the procedure for filing a damage claim. If you happen to take delivery of your package from your mail carrier in person, and there is obvious damage, ask him/her to witness your opening the box, and get the carrier's name to bolster your claim. Notice to Toy and Model Collectors: While HobbyLink Japan appreciates your business, we regret that we cannot accept requests for compensation or replacement of merchandise due to superficial shipping damage to outer packaging, such as bends, creases, minor crushing, etc. While we carefully package everything we ship in brand-new boxes, some cosmetic damage will occur from time to time with any mail-order service. We will happily replace items if the actual product is damaged, but if you absolutely must have an item with a "mint" condition outer box, we recommend you make your purchase from a shop that caters to collectors. ----------------------------------------------------------------- So essentially they are saying 'too bad Charlie' - Maybe I can bring the box to the post office to get some sort of compensation as stated in their policy.

Sorry to see them badly damage junktea1. It happened to me long time ago. I used to be one of HLJ's regular cutomer 5 years ago. That was back in 2002. I canceled all my order and stop buying from them after they screwed up my toys three times in a row because of poor packaging. And the worst thing was, they don't want to replace it. There reason is the toy itself was not damage only the box. Most of there packaging doesn't have enough bubbles and sometimes the toy box is bigger than the packaging box. You know what's going to happen when they do that right? Well for me as a collector I want my toys and the boxes to be in good condition. That is why I always pay premium shipping. But you still end up getting bad products? I can no longer afford my toys getting damage like that. No more HLJ for me since then. Wow. Sorry to hear that. I guess even though I e-mailed them, they are likely not going to do anything, except say the toys are intact and ignore it. I read their policies online and it mentioned: " Problem Resolution. HobbyLink Japan is committed to customer service and will promptly address any customer claims of shipping errors, damage, defects, missing items, etc. if we are contacted within 10 days of delivery at trouble@hlj.com. Missing shipments are also replaced or refunds issued if our designated delivery period passes without your taking delivery of your order. Because we're committed to helping you, under no circumstances should you ever contact your credit card company or PayPal to dispute charges from HobbyLink Japan, particularly without contacting us first. We will solve all genuine customer service problems through refunds, reshipments, discounts or whatever else it takes to reach a fair solution to the problem, and that's our promise! But it's your job to tell us a problem has occurred. As such, not only will we vigorously contest any credit card "chargebacks" (refusals to pay) filed by customers or complaints with PayPal, but such customers may be blacklisted from using our service, meaning we will accept no further orders from them, ever. We also share information about blacklisted customers with other online merchants offering similar merchandise." I did file a paypal dispute, but not a claim. I also sent them an e-mail regarding the situation w/pics & presently awaiting a response. Can anyone recommend another site? Blister appears to have a lot as well, but not sure if they ship internationally.

Well, I have seen this many times in my packages from HJL. I did stop ordering from them for a year or so hopeing that they had improved, but they have not. I received my SOC King Joe yesterday and it appeared in a box almost identical to the one you received (all beat to s***). I guess I have had about 25+ orders from HLJ and out of all those only about 5 looked like this. That is 5 too many considering how much these toys cost. What bothers me the most, is that they just do not care at all when you complain to them. I have complained about the packaging, and more often, I have complained about their ordering system. However, I very rarely get a responce (and if I do, it is just "you are SOL"). I am in the same shape as you, I want to continue my business with them, but they need to try a little harder to keep thier customers happy. I guess I'm SOL. I'm just going to finish my orders through August then. Maybe the Zambot, I'll cancel it because I really want a good condition box.

oh wow! tsktsk!! how long does SAL take from Hobblylink Japan? pre-ordered some stuff from them. Now im thinking twice if i should get anything from them too. 4-6 Weeks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I live in So. Cal. So no one thinks bubble wrap or other padded cushioning would have saved the contents? True. Maybe... a bigger box perhaps Looks like someone either stepped on it or US customs opened it to examine the contents. I don't know. The actual robots are intact, but I sort of like having a good condition box even though I may actually display these items at a later time. The question is... what will HLJ do about it? I don't mind ordering from them as they have a lot of variety and really good prices, but this is the 2nd package I received from them that got beat up. Luckily my Getter Liger was in better shape, unlike Revoltech Megatron. I really still want to acquire a Zambot from them, an Arcadia, Great Maz. is on the way, and I'd like to get one those Destron G-Shock watches.

wow!!! sorry to hear what happened... i never had that experience with HLJ, and i use SAL for shipment really? how many orders have you received? what's the destination? usa? maybe its longer to the US and therefore subject to more abuse. but if you are a seller, you know that the packaging as shown is inadequate for protection

Megs arrived late to the party yesterday via SAL. The orange cap is not even visible unless you view the package diagonally. The cap is flushed to the end of the barrel. i have megatron on the way by sal too. can you tell me if theres any way to remove the orange cap? when i placed my order i kind of forgot about the usa gun law and by the time i realize that my megatron will have a orange cap it was too late to cancel from hlj (i am not a person that preorder and cancel at the last momment).. funny i got my first megatron reissue from a japanese guy a few years ago and my megatron came without a cap. There is no orange cap. I don't know who started that rumor on RJ, but its actually an orange sticker at the end of the barrel. I didn't want to re-open my Megatron, so I just left it as is. Its not very visible unless you look into the package at an angle.
